Women gamers have been on the recieving end of a lot of online harassment especially as of late. (Thank you #gamergate X( ) I think it's important to reach out to women gamers and show them that Elite: Dangerous will welcome them and grant them a safe, hate free place to spend their time.

And as fast as you advertise ED as being a "safe place" - haters will buy the game for the sole purpose of finding new targets to harass.
Sometimes the best thing you can do to help any minorities is not to say anything at all and let those there quietly enjoy something without letting others know about it and ruin it.

The more equality we have in this game the better. A 50/50 ratio of men and women would be a dream, espeacially in an rpg where you need so much fantasy to dwell in. If the Yin and Yan is in place the hole community would be even better than it already is.
Please girls, take your seats, start your engines and let's fill a universe together.
A new poll about the demographics of this game would be quite Interesting. Genders/ Ages/ hobbies/ influences or whatever.

I'd always loved the fact that Elite had managed to avoid having anythin to do with gender politics and all the rubbish that came with Gamergate. This thread makes me sad for that reason.

If we are going to be equal, men AND women dont need a 'special day' to celebrate the fact they have a certain set of genitalia.
