Looking for an idea of the *rough* timescale

Hey All

I managed to put in enough cash to reach the "kickstarter special" which grants 2nd round beta access.

I'm not sure if this implies "Alpha, Beta1 and then beta2" or "Alpha followed by beta".

I was hoping that by now, some idea of the rough time-scales for the various stages might have been published in some form.

I understand alpha is going to happen some time in December (Congrats to those of you involved in this. Enjoy :)

Do we collectively know...
...How long alpha is expected to last?
...When "2nd round beta" might start?

Thanks very much for any information.

At the moment we're concentrating on the Alpha, that will start in December with the first build focusing on single player combat with a number of different scenarios.

A small follow up if I may....

Do we know if those with alpha access will be allowed to post video publicly during this time or their experiences with the game?

just don't show anything that looks bad ;)

How can we .. the game's going to be awesome, even in Alpha :D

I understand that things are always subject to change ... but ... could you give us a quick few words on what the 1st scenario is likely to be ? Kind of "wet the whistle" for those who are waiting and give others who are sitting on the fence (should I upgrade, should I not) a little nudge to join us ?

Yes! Tell us anything! Or just send a movie or two in our direction. That'll do just fine :)

The first scenario lets you get used to flying your ship without any hostiles about to get in the way of your experimentation. Basically a play ground to get the control down.

We don't plan on preventing you from doing this, just don't show anything that looks bad ;)

I'm sure video posters would only post the good stuff because if the game loks great more people will buy and give Frontier more money which they'll invest into making the game better for us. ;) :D

And, I'm sure nobody will post a bad video because they'll be too scared that Frontier might decide to handicap that player's ship...

You would hope so but its a bit naive to think there aren't people invested with the hope it will turn out poorly. That said, I believe the overwhelming number of streamers/vid bloggers will be positive.

I'll be having a shot at videos and perhaps a bit of streaming too. For all those who do stream I'd really suggest playing it for a while first to make sure you are going to demonstrate the game at its best.

When producing edited videos its much easier to put in the recorded bits you want. With streaming its a warts and all scenario. Key point is for the game to say something like, 'Alpha v 1.n'. ;)

I am getting excited now - its not too long away :)
