The Wings content update (Elite: Dangerous 1.2) will be available for download shortly. The Galaxy servers will be down from 3PM GMT for approximately 2 hours to let us apply the update. Thanks again to everyone who took part in the beta test.

Can you clarify please? It means that the max shield class is now a lower one, or did you just reduced it via code/raw value, leaving the class intact?

I suspect it just means wrapping the shield bubble closer to the ship's mesh.

I got the new launcher, but after starting it the option for the beta is completely gone. The only option I see is to "upgrade" back to 1.1.

(oh and also, the launcher still crashes if one forgets to click log in before hitting play)
