Smuggling in 1.2

I doubt it does but I wonder if the wing bonus counts for smuggled goods. If so you wanna trash a couple of T9's full of imperial slaves in testing ben? :p

quit bickering kids.
My big question is going to be how easy it is to determine the demand of contraband without entering the station and attempting to sell said goods...before it was basically the same process as finding the black market in the first place.
dock and cross your fingers.
go to black market and cross your fingers they want what you have.

i don't want to be a slaver....i intend to be a gun-runner. it's the american way.

I only have a D class T9.. No money in smuggling... Or is there... We just don't know...

Ozric (hullo sir) and Bloodlust just hit the ignore feature and have fun with like-minded folk.

By the way I asked the development folks about the trade dividend for smuggling and if I remember rightly they said it was being considered or words to that effect..

Gun running? I think I have something folk. Can test out the new changes.

800cr profit per tonne on smuggled guns. Same system too.

Michael said later in that thread that you can tell from the system by looking at the imports and the prohibited sections, we won't know for sure until the servers come back up later but finding the black markets will be the trickier part hopefully.

Hullo Ben, no I don't put people on ignore, not that I'll need to if the abusive message I just received is anything to go by. Apart from anything else some people need to stick around to point out when people are flat out lying otherwise a lot of people would believe what they say is true. Me, I'm always prepared to be wrong, because if I'm proved to be then it means I've learnt something new.

OK my first little test. I got 1 tonne of Tobacco for 4,632 Cr. galactic average of 5,082

I went to a Extraction/Refinery station that had a high demand for the other Legal Drugs and on the Black Market a high demand for the Tobacco, I could sell it for 5,503 Cr. (the odd thing was the other 2 stations in the system brought the Tobacco for the same price legally)

I went to an Agricultural station which exported the other Legal Drugs and on the Black Market there was no demand (but also a 0 in supply) I could sell it for 4,234

I went to a Extraction/Industrial station that had a high demand for other Legal Drugs, except Liquor which was medium, and on the Black Market a high demand for the Tobacco, I could sell it for 5,482 Cr.

From my limited test I guess what Michael meant was if you look at the type of station in the System Map, then you can use the Commodities Market to see what goods those economies Supply/Demand and work out where will have the highest demand.

....well that was depressing.

That sounds... okay... i doubt blackmarkets would advertise openly and it's down to you to find the route that pays but it really needs to give a decent reward...erm... lets see how t goes

Depressing? It doesn't take that long to get used to the sort of commodities that different economies Supply and Demand. It shouldn't be as easy as normal trading, but I think that there's still a lot more scope for additional information the more you dabble in the markets, maybe the more different markets you discover or the amount traded or something like that.

Plus like I said it's only a brief test, hopefully Michael may tell us if I'm right or wrong ;)

gah! i misread your post. I lost track of the purchase price and read them all as selling at a loss. my mistake :p

forge ahead, friends!

just looking at the aforementioned numbers...it's not looking promising. but let's let it play out and see how it goes.

Still quite a bit above the galactic average, but it's not a really comprehensive test as I didn't test out selling Tobacco before 1.2 :)

Hehe, just read your last post :D

That's the oddity with the "galactic average" values that are strewn around in trading... "average" is quite a broad statement and can indicate one of many different types of "average" rather than the normally expected mean value.

In any case, is the "galactic average" the buying or selling price? Or is it a nominal value in between in which case if there's an approximately even number of suppliers as demand markets and the nominal "galactic average" is, say, 2000 cr/t but you buy at 1500 cr/t then you should be able to sell for 2500 cr/t. Some of these market values are a bit messy and meaningless...

Heres on I did earlier

Gold was scooped

Weapons were bought legally and sold illegally in the same system

Smuggling...... Wolfskin or what ever it is called. Its a rare item from around the with haul area.

Am I right in saying in 1.1 you did not get fined for smuggling these even if they were illegal? I am sure I never got a fine before.

Tonight I got 2 x fines of almost 28k each. Not a complaint, it makes sense but just a warning. You need to be careful with these.

Wolf Hesh from Wolf 3601 (one jump over from WitchHaul)? That's actually part of my own route. Haven't been caught with it... yet.

Amusing aside --- the first time I sold that stuff on the Black Market (I didn't realize it was illegal when I first got it), I went from "Peddler" to "Dealer". I'm like "Great, now I'm the corner drug dealer"
