‘Last Orders’

I bank on reliable info regarding my kickstarter pledge which said estimated delivery March. So plus minus two weeks then. Or make the beta open for everyone in March for order fulfillment.

I didn't realise that estimate meant "+-2 weeks" - I'll have to remember that whenever someone uses that word in future. :p

Kickstarter does not guarantee projects or investigate a creator's ability to complete their project on time. On Kickstarter, backers (you!) ultimately decide the validity and worthiness of a project by whether you decide to fund it.

GAMMA fo FAMMA be Bamma!!! GAMMA!

Gamma = Launching next year before the main launch... so it will likely be Gamma near March and then onwards to who knows when... but ALL backers will have Gamma Access!

Sorry but 200 Pounds for being an alpha tester? Sure, if they pay ME for it.

There's a big difference between passion and desire, mainly in terms of it's intensity. FD have utilized this in order to guarantee that serious Elite enthusiasts test the game, find the faults and give feedback. I'm sure that most of the Alpha testers think it's well worth the cash to be amongst the first to 'touch' the game.
Next month is going to be the most exciting so far, I can't wait to start reading the posts and watching the vids. Come January (fingers crossed) Beta commences and the excitement will increase again.

It's not about being the first to touch the game for me. It's about being involved in the development of the game, albeit in a small way. At the DDF level we are able to give our input into the design of the core mechanics of the game -- and in most cases the design has been improved through that feedback. At alpha level we are able to input into the implementation of that design, so we'll be able to give direct feedback on the flight mechanics, the combat experience, etc. and I'm sure that feedback will lead to a better experience for everyone. I'm happy to pay to be part of that.

IMO alpha won't be about buxfixing per se. Of course, there will be game-breaking bugs that will need to be fixed based on our input, but I would expect that to be the remit of the beta more than the alpha.

I´m fine with waiting for March 2014 for the release version, as stated for estimated delivery on Kickstarter.

They have already announced that the betas will be followed by Gamma, which is open to all backers. The release version is further along the road.

Also, "estimated delivery" is just that - an estimate. Many projects turn out needing more time than originally planned. And, in case of games, we all know what happens when games are forced out in unfinished state.

6th of December! Damn, that's my pay day and I was going to drop £100 on it. Maybe I can squeeze it in before it ends.

Go live while Alpha backers are at work!

I wonder how many Alpha's have booked time off or will throw a sickie...

:D
Hehe, I for one have saved part of my summer holiday and most of my overtime hours to have a good holiday from mid Dec to mid Jan ;)
