Newcomer / Intro T6 trading vs viper/vulture bounty hunting?

RES anacondas (that can spawn as harmless) and pythons can be taken down relatively easily. Especially pythons, which is like swatting flies.

It's true, especially with the help of Authority wings.

Hostile faction Sidewinder wings, on the other hand, can be a real pain. :)

Yes they do. There seem to be two instances at RES, one with only Eagles/Sidwinders, the other one with a lot of big ships and almost no little ones. Seems to be 50/50 to me, if i happen to be in the "small" one i jump out and directly in again.

And its not about to "solo stuff", there is a lot of help from the system authorities. Let them burn down the shields of Pytons/Anacondas and then target the reactor for a quick kill. Furthermore many Dropships/Clippers with Bountys 100k+ spawn without shields and they are really easy to kill (get under/behind, target reactor, fire, 100+k in 5 sec...)

The way RES instances are right now its definitely possible, try it!

post a screenshot from outfitting of your Vulture loadout..... please. :) .... none of this fantasy shipyard baloney .... I've got a few spare Cr's to try your loadout ..... F10 to screenshot :)

I will do it when i am at home. But its really nothing special, yesterday i had C3 pulse laser (the ones for 280k) B powercoupling and D thrusters, good sensors and a good killscanner and the cheapest reactor that could run my setup. Since then i have invested my earnings in better parts but ill post a shot of my loadout later :)

Please do, sounds affordable!

Here is my current loadout, but i switched some parts with my new earned money. But i think it would work with almost any setup as long as you use class 3 energy weapons and a good power capacitor.

Just remember to

- dont start fights with shielded Anacondas/Pythons unless you are prepared to take some hull damage
- when dealing with shielded Anacondas/Pythons maneuver in a good position ~300m behind/below while letting security take down shields and soak up enemy fire
- target the power plant of any ship bigger than a viper
- when the bad boys (aka "suicide pirates") jump in faster than you can kill them prioritze your targets (risk of target beeing killed by npc vs. reward vs. time-to-kill)
- check your contacts tab often to not miss a big ship

Happy hunting!

I'm relatively new to combat but did swap my Cobra for a Vulture and have been camped in Lugh over the weekend. I'm getting an estimated 800k/h in the low intensity combat zone, haven't tried the others yet. I hope to remain in the 10M+ goal band which will be more cash than I ever had. I've got a pair of bursts which do drain the power, but it does recharge pretty quickly too. Will have to try pulse when I rekit.

I did trading in a T6 previously. The increase in interdictions when 1.1 came in made it much less fun so I quit doing that. I also didn't enjoy trying to find the profitable routes in the first place. To me it isn't all about the credits, but what is more fun getting those credits. I hope after Lugh I can afford a pimped out Asp to try a deep exploration.

You are absolutely right about the way you earn you credit has to be fun otherwise you'll proberly just quit the game sooner rather than later...
Btw. I also had fun in the CZ in lugh this weekend didn't noticed you though, but there is still 2 weeks of conflict so perhaps we'll meet I'm sertenly going back there in a couple of days maybe we can even team up if we see each other... ;)

I just took my trusty Cobra (mostly DADADA, 2 M/G MC, 2 S/G BL) out to the local RES - MC ammo was empty after 380k local and 100k other bounties. 20 minutes at the most, 'Condas and Clippers only. Friendly support by a local 4 Eagle Authority wing. Shields dropped once, went down to 93 % while leading the last 'Conda to them.

So yeah, bounty hunting pays well these days, and hiding behind asteroids is fun, fun, fun. :)

i'll chime in for the cheap fit vulture being a good credit earner. just posted my test on another thread as i hit the 3mill/hr mark people are talking about. my vulture is worth just under 6 mill

pic of my transactions and a list of my fittings in the link

i have a mix of C to E modules (E shield genny!). Most of the time I just need 2 pips to shields and 4 to wep as the feds work wonders to soak up the bulk of the pain. I can take a conda on my own, but that needs a few shield cells to get the job done. even after using all my shield cells i still stayed in until the hour was done as there were so few times my shields were stressed it didn't seem worth the trip home.

that said i am getting good at staying on the back of a conda whilst pounding at its power plant, lots of thruster/throttle work there but that's half the fun.

i did reset the res site once to get the good ship spawns. after each kill i'd check contacts to find the next big ship. when given the choice of big ships to shoot at i'd follow the feds on their target. there were a lot of feds, including one conda, so i think the 3mill/hr mark is greatly helped by focusing fire with the feds. i'd largely ignore small ships preferring to move back to the res beacon whilst looking for more big ships. i did a KWS on all big ships, but I only bothered to aim for the power plants on the condas.

with the police presence in res sites i don't think you need the 20-30mill fits to be safe enough and to kill fast enough to earn good credits. you just need to focus fire with the feds instead of avoiding them. i have no idea how many extra guns were on my side, but i bet the combined firepower was well above what the best conda's can spit out. that to me seems to be the secret to this earning potential.

Thinking about trading the trusty Viper for a Vulture in the BH role. Had gread fun with the old girl but those two large hard points are sure tempting!

I fitted out my Vulture to all A grade because, well, I could.

However, I can confirm it doesn't need to be fitted out that way to be an absolute killer. for example, the thrusters don't need to be a rated. The hull is so far under the optimal mass that the ship doesn't lose any significant maneuverability by equipping D thrusters. It loses top speed and boost speed - important for PvP - but this doesn't make any difference to NPCs unless you want to kill all the ships in a wing but pop the lead ship first.

I did it, swapped the t6 and got the vulture.

The smile on my face as soon as I took off was gratification enough.

It's pretty much in its stock form apart from the 4a FSD off my t6 and 2 c3 pulses.

It's a beast as it is, cant wait to upgrade the rest of it and see what it can really do.

Congrats :) If your prefered BH-RES is in your system you could think about changing your 4A FSD to a cheap 2D FSD as it saves you power, weight and, in an shtf-scenario, rebuy costs :)

Yeah, I've worked out I can drop down to a 4b as there is a good res spot in the next system which will free up 1m for upgrades.

The res system unfortunately doesn't sell the upgrades so I need the jump range (13ly)

Yeah, I really dont know where everyone gets this "you must have 20 mil to run a vulture" - I bought my vulture and outfitted it with a total of 8.8 mil - Bought the ship, spent down to 1.4 mil (to keep a cusion to cover the 300k rebuy) - I got my KWS, got an okay shield cell bank, got a shield booster, upg powerplant - Basically upg all unneccessary modules to the d rank - Upg the thrusters a bit more, but from what Im seeing, you really only need the D modules. Im not there to outrun them, just to outturn them ;)

All that TRULY matters in an RES (if you do it right and work WITH the authorities) is having the C3 Pulse, and at least the B rated distributor and of course, the KWS. Dont get me wrong, I need an A distributor so I can continuously fire, but the B does a wonderful job at recharging the cap and you can fire for a very long burst before stopping.

I have it set on my stick for secondary fire is my KWS and primary fire shoots both pulse lasers. So as im sneaking up im starting the scan, and when I get close I fire, while firing, finish scan. And for most ships its just a couple more shots then they die.

But me, I didnt trade any of my ships. I never do. I will never sell my fully kitted viper. I feel like im sort of...betraying her with this vulture. lol i know it sounds weird...but I had gotten used to the idea that the Viper was going to be my primary combat vessel for a looooong time. idk, might downgrade a module or 2 on it and upg my vulture a little more...we shall see

Question: Does anyone know what class and rating shield cell bank would be good enough for the vulture? I think im running the b shields...but those banks are soooo power hungry, and I just want something I can activate in a hurry so my shields dont collapse, dont need anything super powerful, but I also dont want something that gives me like 10% shields back or something

Does that mean that 8.8 Mill leaves you with a lacklustre Vulture ?

No idea on the shield cell bank btw - sorry :(

No just one with potential...my FSD is still stock as is the shield gen but it is still rather good at RES bounty hunting. Two pulse lasers and a few D-class upgrades and you have a reasonable fighting machine, just know to stay away from the pointy ends of your targets and run if the shields are getting thin! It will of course be getting the upgrades but it is a great machine to fly. With the new buffed payouts the earnings are at a level where you can earn upgrades while having fun (just avoid dying as the re-buy is quite high).
