great thanks.
I started my 'head off in a random direction' expedition last night, I have scanned lots of systems and also managed to find two systems with pristine belts/clusters, so have bookmarked them to come back to and mine.
This is my first time exploring and Im liking it.
Its funny that you keep seeing the same discoverer names popping up on the bodies, I am determined to find one of my own.
Tip: There's obviously been a few CMDR's who have been targeting specific "interesting" stuff early on in the game's life. You'll find quite a few nebulas for example have been explored and discovered quite well. I've noticed one CMDR who's been specifically targeting non-main-sequence stars. I notice all this because in my first real exploration jaunt, I've been doing the same. Basically, assume that if you've thought of doing something or visiting some place in particular, someone else has been there and done that before you
On saying that, there are 400 billion star systems in the galaxy. It's a big number and I'm not sure everyone realises just how large a number that is. In other words, there are always going to be new sights to see. Even if every single player started exploration - which they won't - it would take decades if not centuries to explore every star system in the galaxy
