And I hate them with a passion.
Everytime I see an 'oh-so-funny-hahahaha!!' CMDR or NPC name, my immersion goes right out the window.
I want to lose myself in space, in the Elite universe with its lore and fiction... not some nowadays oh-so-funny -names that are - in my opinion - neither funny, nor very clever in most cases.
In all honesty, this is one of the things in Elite that annoy me the most, really.
Can't wait to see all the 'funny ship names'... duh. -.-
Ive been saying that since the beginning.
It still amazes me that after all the years of work they put into this game, that somewhere along the line they decided to populate it with comedy names.
I've got used to it now, so it doesnt bother me, but I do still think it was a strange decision.
Personally, I would rather that we didnt see the commander names at all, just the ship and a registration plate (like in FFE), with the pilot details only revealed by a 'lifeform' scan or something, those details would then appear in the panel.
