My post was not aimed as a personal attack against you - I was referring to a general category of players I had the pleasure to come into contact while playing Lineage 2.

English is actually my third language so I would never pick on anyone who doesn't speak it well, my "citation" was related to a general slang used by a type of player I would avoid at all times.

Regarding your last phrase, oh well, it's a dangerous world out there, who knows what's gonna in the blackness of space

nvm but you must accept, and see every single player seperately, even if he calls himself a trader, he could turn around and kill other traders. there is no profession in general, you must know almost every single player you meet and know how he acts. there is no grouping in general. even if we are 37000 players, the ones you see are they that you will know about when the game goes on. ignoring them is slapping them in their face.

Not to educate you or tell how to act in this case - but seriously, will you allow one troll/griefer impact your decision without even trying? Game will come only after months. Don't jump to conclusions. By the way this forum have ignore list too. Very handy if you ask me. Use it well

And furthermore it's quite wrong. There is not one single type of multiplayer game out there, and Elite: Dangerous will be its own game, unshackled by the limitations of previous games. Frontier have said that this game is not all about killing.

My German is sehr schlecht unfortuantely but no worries, I don't have plans to found any empires - attracts too much attention

I can't actually believe this topic has gained 12 pages of posts. My tuppence worth is that there will no doubt be people who just want to shoot everything that moves. Most likely these will be poor pilots that just want to annoy people. A skilled and more considered pilot will hand them their backsides on a plate.

- Pirates in E-D declare intent of piracy and allow their target the option of dumping cargo to avoid getting shot. Stand and Deliver!

Let them play SC then ED has to have its own unique attraction and try and get the sort of people that SC will miss. There will be overlap of course, but it would be boring if the two games overlapped too much.

In other postings in other threads I have already mentioned that my "real game" would very likely be in SP Offline mode (meaning not even having Universe updates). I'm understandably curious about MP and would come online to chat and make friends and have a look. I expect my ED gaming would look like this - 95% SP offline, 5% MP (you can search if you want to, I'm not lying). So, there's no "impact" at all. This has all along been my plan.

I do plan to come online to see what's happening, and, if the community is similar to Evochron's (being that the entire game is open-PvP as being the similarities), I might move my "real game" online.

My participation in this thread is to voice the other side of MP - guys who just wanna make friends, go on quests together and have no interest in PvP whatsoever. MP to people like me is a "social club" not an Arena. Apparently that point got lost, or I didn't make that point clear enough. Everyone tells me to avoid this, avoid that, how MP is played, group rules and so on.

True enough, game is not released, no one knows for sure how MP is really going to be like, and my points do not seem to be made or understood, I concede and thus leave you all to your MP discussions and how it should be played.

well, I think we shall just have to wait and see if that pans out for E D. One of the biggest draws for alot of folks to this game will be the variety of game playing styles (offline/online, single, grouped, ironman and whatnot) that's on offer. On this basis alone, I think its impossible to say which type of gamplay will attract "much more" people at this stage. Each to their own.
