Safer travel in Leesti as The Code announce a pirate free zone.

The code are proud to announce that there will now be no need to purchase a Travel pass if you are only visiting the Codelands area of the New Caribbean. All Independent sectors of this area will be protected by Code enforcers who will no longer engage in acts of piracy in this area. Instead CODE enforcers will be on the lookout for rougue pirates and bounty hunters. Traders can now feel a lot safer in this area than in recent times knowing that the Code are there to protect them.

Rogue pirates and Bounty hunters however will be dealt with very severly. Any non code ship carrying an interdictor will be deemed to be hunting traders or hunting Code members and will be illiminated on sight.

Since the Code, helped the Independent factions to take control of Leesti and Reorte , peace has come to the area. Trade is flourishing the birds are singing and the people are happy. In Leesti, new figures released show that crime is down by 72%, Trade is up 58% and Tourism is up by 24% . Mining has now resumed in the outlying systems of the New Caribbean where it is rumored small deposits of Painite have been uncovered.

The Codelands consist of the 12 Independent Systems shown in yellow on the map.

There are three Alliance systems consisting of Lave, Diso and Zaonce and three Federation systems of Heheng, Riedquat and Baijungu also in the New Caribbean. We can not provide free protection in these areas and recommend that you purchase a travel pass for these areas. Code enforcers WILL interdict traders in these non Independent systems and unless you purchase a Travel pass, your cargo will be confiscated. There are now twice as many Code pilots operating in these area so the chances of being interdicted are high. The Code intend to eventually help to liberate these pockets of bureaucracy and oppression and make them Independent but this will be a long hard task and we do have to get our operating costs from somewhere. Think of a pass as a toll , who's funds will help to create a brighter future for the whole area. Visit the New Caribbean, support the Code and bring peace to the whole area.

The important thing to take frim this message is that open trading is safer now than it has ever been. That is great news for a 'rares' system...

As long as you pay them "protection".
It's like the Triad moving in on Okinawa and declaring it a "Yakuza free zone".

I'm no rogue, i'm a perfectly acceptable BH.

Genuinely nice chap.
I hope to be out hunting again in the next few days.

Im tempted to fly to these stars and test the mettle of these CODE pilots, no one charges me for flying in these sectors :)

(just so you are clear, I support player made groups like CODE, just CODE are pirates, and I am bounty hunter)

Come on, not all traders get stopped every time they pass through Lave. Mine is probably 1 in 8 runs. Now they are saying we won't be stopped at all. Good news I reckon...

Bah. Respectable traders have given up on the whole region around Lave. Plenty of other rare routes where petty self-professed fiefdoms aren't trying to rob us of our hard-earned cashy money. Its only time before Code gets bored, discovers that they've "won" and no traders will come within 20 light years of the place. Then they'll realize that all the traders are making their money out of Altair. They'll try to do there what they're doing in Lave. Then they'll get a Federal smack-down.

>Actually enjoy the role-play and glad to have Code providing some flavor to the galaxy... the dirty pirates!<

Come on guys i realy like the RP and all but all this direction changing (pirate-defender-savior-police) is over the top.

Spice up things but do it in a believeable way

We like to have our own safe haven to call home. We are certainly not giving up piracy. There seems to be rich pickings to be had on the Silk road and the Code pilots that stay around the New Caribbean are having a great time killing bounty hunters in Leesti and robbing transport ships in Lave, Zaonce and Diso.

So let's get this straight.
You claim peace has come to the Lave Cluster since you took control?
But there already was peace in the Lave Cluster before you arrived and forced your control on to everyone else.

So in essence what you're saying is: The Code created carnage and now The Code is trying to take credit for stopping itself from killing everyone!

So very generous and restrained of you all.
By the way, your signature image spells your name incorrectly! ;-)

There was never peace in the New Caribbean. Before we arrived pirating was rife and other groups such as the french Canadians and Cosmic state caused havoc in the area. We have brought stability and order to the area, Well at least to the Independent parts. Our guys have to have their fun and make some money somewhere, so pirating in the Alliance sectors has doubled. If we should liberate them, then they too will become safe places to once again visit and our pirates will move onto new areas.
Support the code, you know it makes sense.

Seeing a lot of typical alliance hypocrisy in some of these posts. You seem to be all in favour of championing self determination for your citizens, right up until that self determination disagrees with the alliance political line. You're no different from the Federation you vilify.

I for one would like to extend a welcome from the Duval Empire to Leesti's new protectors.

Oh come on, this is exactly like the real world, and totally believable. It's what nations have done for thousands of years and is the stuff our civilization is built on. Lies and deceit. Extortion. Blackmail. Office politics. What a perfect game.
