Spanish language localization promise not fullfilled yet

Lots of existing players at the moment at the Spanish speaking community who prefer not to play in English bought into the game under the expectation that the game at launch would have had the promised localizations, including Spanish:

Localisation has started; we will be initially releasing the following languages:
German, French, Russian, Polish, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, Mexican Spanish, Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian and Simplified Chinese.

4 months after release and 8 months after the announcement we still dont have the Spanish localizations.

And many Spanish speaking players have not been able to even start to play the game they bought for that reason. Some have even started wondering if it would have been better for them simply to wait until the first sales hitting the game maybe in Summer or Christmas this year instead.

Other potential commanders were wiser and have simply not bought into the game yet, waiting. The potential market missed here can be significant too.

It would be great if FDEV could at least announce a tentative timeline for this.

If they cannot find time, they should let you guys do that for them. For example, I've done localization for World of Tanks - WGN gave me extracted text files and job was done in a week or two.

+1 I see very necessary the translation into Spanish.
especially for trade. as there are names I do not understand, perhaps because they are very technical. and this leads me to make mistakes on my trading operations.

Undoubtedly, another compassionate lie. Many people are not defended with the language of Shakespeare. So out of respect for the millions of Spanish speakers. Add the Spanish language please. FD, you lose players per second. Regards!!

I'd like to see this too - my brother in law is Spanish - he remembers the first game well and whenever I go over there I'm working on him to sign up for this one.

as i live in madrid. i too would like there to be a localised spanish version of the game, for purely selfish reasons, like i'd have more people to bore talking about the game.

I'm confident that Frontier Developments will soon(TM) translate to spanish his masterpiece. They have done it for russian, german and french languages, so the other languages promised will follow eventually. They are making a huge effort to make Elite: Dangerous available to as much users as possible (Mac release incoming, XBox One anounced, Steam distribution...), and they know that localization is a very important selling point. The spanish language is one of the most spoken and widely distributed languages in the world (4th by number of countries in which it's official language) so I'll be surprised if spanish not is the next in queue.
