CMDR TRAV ELER dare reply to this post!!!!!

I went to the Orion cluster and every object had been surface scanned and named by TRAV ELER.

I'm talking about thousands of system containing dozen of objects each!!!!

He hasn't left even lonly icy planets 400000 Ls from landing points.

I had to go to the Seagull Nebula to name something inside a cloud!!!

If you dare reply to this post you will get +1rep.

Now off to fit FSD interdictor and weapons in case I meet you out there.

Wait until running across my hit-and-miss scanning activities vexes your orderly and diligent efforts at discovery. You'll never figure out my pattern!

Just move your Route 30-50LY up or down in the Galactic Plane (visible in the Coordinates displayed with the grid in the Galaxy Map).

Chances are, all of all sudden it's all your's ;)
(at least you'll get off-track from that previous Explorer)

I wanted to name something inside a cloud. He named everything inside there. I even set "econimical route" and made 0.5 Ly jumps on M classes with lousy icy planets. I used to see TRAV ELER name carved into planets. Now that I'm back i feel better.

That is a lie.

I'm exploring the same region, and only a minority of astronomical objects have been "first discovered" by TRAV ELER.

Minority? In some cases somebody else named the mani star, but those thousands of moons...

I see clouds of gas giants forming TRAV ELER name.
I see cracks in icy planets forming TRAV ELER name.
I see nebulae transforming into TRAV ELER shape.

Now I'm back to TZ Arietis. Doctors say i have to take these pills. And they forbid me to fly my Yellow Viper.

Lol, you seem to have followed his steps somehow... Bad luck?

I've now mapped over 600 star systems in the 100LY long tightly packed star cluster around Orion Nebula, and I'm sure I've seen TRAV ELER as a first discoverer in less than 100 of them. :) There are a few other CMDR names I encounter quite frequently, and I'm not sure which one has most claims.

Well, trying to name stuff in a Nebula is extremely tough business. Almost no chance, many of these are basically Tourist spots by now...

The only chance you have IMHO :
Search the Forums (and Google) for Nebula names and Screenshots.
If you find posters showcasing - consider them already discovered (unless the Screenshots read Alpha Build or Beta Build - there was a wipe after Beta but not after Gamma Phase of testing).

BUT if not... Equip your Ship max. Range, plot a course and get there at max. speed :D

It seems my max speed is 2 system/hour. I cannot resist opening the system map. And then all those planets... So shiny...

Lol, just let me joke!!!!!!!!!!!
Of course inside that cluster there are a bazillion system and i scanned only 300 or so.
TRAV ELER TRAV ELER TRAV ELER TRAV ELER TRAV ELER.
Why I can't buy guns for my ASP again? Shopkeeper doesn't want my money.

I have a theory that I'd like one of the old (gamma, early release) explorers to confirm/debunk:

Judging by the systems I found explored in the "older tourist regions", all of them are completely discovered to the last icy planet.
Is it possible that discoveries made before 1.2* got the tag even when only space horned?

*thats the patch in which the "first discovered" tag appeared, right? I have terrible memory, so maybe it was 1.1...

Yep, your theory is correct. Let us all consider this a part of the history of the galaxy - an unexplained phenomenon at the space horns assembly line led to a monumental increase in the number of 100% discovered systems, but this lasted only for a few brief weeks as the affected horns begun melting due to excessive overheating...engineers are still scratching their heads, completely unable to trace the changes that took place in the atomic structure of these few devices in the construction phase...
