Alpha Is Out

I am seeing a 570MB file - but not finished downloading yet.
Figured it would happen when I'm at work... Have fun everyone 
From what I've read it's under 1.5GB and the spec needed is slightly lower than was previously announced.
I can't confirm this first hand yet as there's issues with the store logon to download it.
I can't believe I'm finally seeing this game again on my computer after so many years.
I'm just sorry for my the lack of participation in the devs forum, but I was so busy at my job!
Anyway, I'm in the game now and I hope I will find more time to be a bit more useful through this alpha !!!

The download is pretty small by all accounts but you do need to be online to play.
Afraid not, i believe in another post Michael stated that the backers upgrades were closed off, so now if you want alpha access you'll have to stump up £200 like the new non-backers
I don't have alpha access but i'm loving this activity!! Haven't seen it since the Kickstarter days. Can't wait to see you guys put some gameplay footage up

I would guess that if you have backed the game already with £100, you could still upgrade to alpha. I would drop them an e-mail.
Takes up 1.17G, took about 15 min to download and install - from the other side of the planet

I popped into the ED shop today and noticed that my account says that I have only backed/payed for £100, but I have actually paid £170 which includes a mug, the Beta, and being a founder etc.
Just wondering whats going on please?
I have re read this and it does seem a bit tetchy, please don't read into that I didn't mean to sound all complainy just wondering what's happening is all

The backers who upgraded before the original app closed will have all their pledges and upgrades stored by Frontier. the new store is completly seperate from the original and some parts were not transffered over.
Michael has stated that the are all on file though, so no-one should lose out.
With the original Backers app now closed if you wish to upgrade to Alpha it will cost you the full amount.

As far as I can make out it only shows the rewards available from the shop, I'm backed at £150 but it shows £100, because I presume the higher rewards (Founder Status etc) will be delivered in-game and not through the shop.
