Refuel 10%

I use it to manage my jump range when trading. On a few routes, I notice that on a full tank it takes 4 jumps and on a half tank or less it is 2-3 jumps (fully laden).

So, to keep my jump range in a sweet spot, I only fill my tank with the amount of fuel needed to make a trip.

If you aren't on your last drop of fuel when you touch down, you're doing it wrong :p

Skinners! Spend a couple of creds and live a little with a full tank.

Hehe, you make it sound like we are driving cars :p It makes no sense to have a full tank all the time in these ships, especially as a trader. It's just like aircraft, only take the fuel you need, any more will be counter productive and reduce your range

Hey,

Did anybody, ever, use this?

Why is it even an option?

Cheers,

I started using it as soon as somebody pointed it out to me.

If you fly something like an Asp with a 32t fuel capacity you really don't want a full tank when going out bounty hunting in the local systems.

Remember that when the winds screw you over, and you are at max ETOPS.

Not sure if you are joking or not..What does ETOPS have to do with Spaceships? C'mon mate, you know you are just being silly. Anyway the principal applies to aircraft too, regardless of ETOPS, you carry what you need, that includes contingency fuel.

I used it just once. I was flying my starter ship to buy my asp, and so made sure that I arrived very low on fuel - no point in buying fuel I was not going to use. And of course since then I have nearly always had a fuel scoop, so have not been buying fuel.

I used to use it all the time to keep my fuel weight in a sweet spot. Then a thought occurred to me. If I regularly only use 8T of fuel in a 32T tank, why not just switch to a 8T tank? If I'm in my vulture, I go even smaller with a class 1 tank. It's all you need for a combat ship unless you're regularly travelling between systems. The tiny tank sure cuts down on mass though so that bird turns even faster.

100% refill FTW.

Yeah, if you know well your fuel usage patterns, you can drop down to the smallest feasible tank.

Your 777 has just a *little* more endurance than my bird- our average mission length was 1.6 hours. You forget that you can never have too much fuel, according to the old maxim. We would tank, after takeoff, to a gross greater than max takeoff weight.

And your bird has two engines. I had only one, and once my generator failed. I was about 200 NM short of Stornoway, so, it was one of those experiences that the PvP type guys so treasure. Hottest approach I've ever flown.

Someday, you whippersnappers, with all your flight data and comms on the same physical net, and with only two engines, is going to follow the computer into the drink.

Oh. Wait. The Air France bird that went down off Brazil, because y'all forgot how to fly manually. Or the 777's with battery fires, Or, (insert maniacal told you so laughter)...
