Strange things NPC "ships can only" do.

They can jump through planets or suns.

If you try to ram them at close range they will match your moves and it's almost impossible to ram them (in the smaller more manoeuvrable npc ships)

They don't give the emotional satisfaction of melting another cmdr down into scrap.

Hehe if players could do what some NPC's do we would have mass rage quitting threads on the forums
.. and i do agree, some of the stunts I have seen are... well, hardcore ?
The one I despise the most is when you get a 200 c fine, lo and behold, every NPC with a parsec goes bonkers trying to skin you...
Mas murderers, child molesters, dictators and jaywalkers are all suddenly left alone, even with gazillions in bounties on their heads !
No you , yes you are and absolute public enemy No. 1 now, and you must be destroyed at all costs.

Cheers Cmdr's

I was interdicted, a single target behind me - a good few KM away. It launches a missile with apparently a FSD built in, as it appears in front of me, coming straight at me..

Actually not a bug, you can too if you fly FA off. Without flight assist, you don't lose your velocity and can jump as long as your velocity vector aligns with your ship facing, and in the case of hyperspace, both aligned with your target.

I'm sure I have seen them jump without going the necessary speed to begin the countdown, though I could be wrong.

Infinite Fragment Cannon ammo, or is that one my imagination?

npc can have infinite ammo on multi cannons, they can spam laser fire with out worrying about pip management, and to top it off they can frameshift drive even if you take it out. I say npc cheat and have no rules.

I am pretty sure they have to manage their pips.
Based on shield recharge rates suddenly dropping as they decide to fight or run, suggests they are taking Pips out of Systems.

Also destroying the distributor just seems to stop changing pip allocation rather than stopping power going to the three capacitors completely, so any NPC about to lose theirs would likely just Balance power and then when it is destroyed they still have manoeuvre, charge shields and shoot.

They do seem to carry an awful lot of ammo for those fragment cannons though

I just go interdicted by an NPC. He pulled me out of Super Cruise (Like Usual) however, When I dropped out of super cruise, There were many other ships around us both... and the NPC that interdicted me was flying around eractically. Now comes the interesting part.... He interdicts me again !! That's right... I am no longer in super cruise and he interdicts me again!! This time he is successful at putting us both together alone in space an he precedes to attack me.... OFC the rest is history... I Blew him up... hehe... I have to say though...it was a mind blowing process...i wonder if i will ever see that again...

That's a very crazy story, seems more like a bug rather than cheating AI. Very interesting.

Also try to tone down your font size, there's no need to shout. ;)

Let's be honest, FD had to make the NPC cheat in order to put up a challenge for players. Despite that effort was futile and NPC still get slaughtered easily.

The only complaints we hear about are new players getting owned by NPC that were meant for more experienced players.

This indeed! Absolutely infuriating.
I wasted an hour or so last night trying to ram the mall cops in one of the Leesti RES with limited success. Even if they were supposedly fully engrossed in bagging a pirate they'd still have a sixth sense I was creeping up behind and neatly sidestep with the opposite of whatever thrusters I used.
I could only get them when they turned to scan me - hit the boosters and give them a face full of head.

Yeah, I've had the same thing while outrunning a pack of hungry Anacondas after dropping into a Strong Signal Source.
