Thanks LG. Yeah I had some IT band problems earlier in the year. I took some time off over the summer and found it hard getting back in but now seem fitter than ever.
Well done Cmdr Flossy, plateaus are completely normal, remember weight is only one measure - if you are feeling healthier you probably are.
Losing weight had never been a goal for me but you prompted me to go check and it does look like I have lost some. Down to 12st10, when I last checked a few months ago I was just over 13st.
Probably partly due to an unoffical "Go Sober for October". I am not actually taking part in that but it did prompt us to cut down this month to almost nothing. 3 individual drinks so far this month one wine and two bottles of beer. Believe me that is a massive drop.
It has surprised me actually how easy it was to do. I was drinking quite a lot of red wine - maybe a couple of glasses a night. It was partially because my wife wanted to cut down and partially because I had that race but have carried on since.
On top of giving up caffeine since about May time which I did cold turkey as well, I am running out of stimulants.
I am wondering if being fitter means my body is worried about the stimulants.
This time of year is always very busy at work so it will be a good test to see how well I do.
All the best everyone.
The not drinking bit resonates with me - I've spent the last couple of days convincing myself I'm not going to have any beer/alcohol tonight.
This will be the first Friday since about 2.5 years ago that has happened.
Had about three months off fitness stuff over the summer - got up to about 1.75 stones over what had been my best weight for years.
Given up on the stationery bike and have been back swimming daily Mon-fri for about 6 weeks, the membership includes a Swimtag which records what strokes you're doing, times etc. which is great.
Lost about .5 of the extra 1.75 stones so far but seem to have plateaued hence the beer quitting till I get back to my target..
Good luck to all my fellow fitness campaign commanders!
