Getting to Founders World

So I've read that the only ways to get to Founders World is to either be an original backer or reach Elite. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to back the game in Kickstarter, so my only option would be to reach Elite, thus my question... What do I need to reach Elite in? Combat/Trading/Exploring/All of the above? Or do I need to reach Elite with the Federation (Unaware of the Federation rankings as I have focused on the Empire for the Clipper)?

I've got a sort of related question on the Founders World. I've heard the place sells everything, every ship and every upgrade. So with that in mind can you buy (for example) a Federal Dropship or an Imperial Clipper without reaching the necessary ranks in the Federation or Empire? Or do you still need the ranks first?

Still need the ranks

@Op, by the time you reach any of those ranks you wont really care about the founders world, It's just a small perk, you'll be loaded and know where all the good stations are anyway.

You can buy all the ships except the Federal Dropship or Imperial Clipper. Those two need to be bought in stations own by their respective factions

Since when is this? Last time I've been there a couple of weeks ago they had all ships on stock. You still had to have the appropriate faction rank to buy a Clipper or a Dropship though.

Sadly no :(. (But I guess it's the correct thing to do)

I wanted to try out a Clipper but when I docked there it said I needed the rank. Which I don't have, all my ranks are still "None" even after many months of play ;)

That was the case early on, but both are now available at Jameson to those who have the ranks needed.

The Clipper sale at Nu was one to take advantage of if that's what you wanted. At 15M it was still a 5 mil savings over Founders World.

As much of an advantage and savings as the FW permit is, it can still be a bit of a drag to get there depending on how far out you are. The game really needs a better way to manage ship retrieval and storage than buying a Hauler or Sidewinder to go get and move a ship. Even just being able to book a passenger transport to a destination at a reasonable time/cost would be a big help.

You can get your reputation up with the pilots federation by doing missions for them in lft 926 in preparation so when you get your pass you'll already be allied with them.

Founder's world has all the ships, modules weapons etc. And It has it all at a discount (10% i believe). So, for me, it's really a useful perk, especially for the more expensive items/ships. Plus, you're certain to find what you're looking for there. And yes, any of the three elite ranks (combat / trader / explorer) is enough to get access.

You need to do BB missions for that, as they will unlock naval progression missions, there's a good guide for that here

You have to do the ascension missions to get your rank up in the main factions.

By the time you reach elite money probably isn't as nig an issue. But not having to search for ships/modules is a significant benefit.

I find Shinrarta Dezhra's Jameson Memorial pretty convenient as not only does it stock all ships, it also stocks all upgrades. No need to remember or write down (let alone search) for rarer weapons.

Hey there.
"You can get a permit to Founders World by reaching Elite status on Combat/Trading/Exploration"
I got a question.
Do I really need to reach Elite? That's pretty hard, you know.
I've been doing missions for the Pilots Federation for a while now. I was hoping that if I reached Allied Status, they would invite me to their system.
Am I doing wrong? Do I have to reach Elite?
If I do, give me some advice. How can I easily reach elite? Should I try reaching it by fighting? Trading? Exploring? Which one is the fastest?
Thank you.
