Hi Chaps, when I get my Python... just so you know.. you are not alone

29m and counting!

I've not used any kind of trade tool since day one and I've very little idea about routes and what not but I sat and pondered with a cup of tea last night and pondered again. Just tested my pondering and I pondered right. 7m tonight. Might have been a fluke but I think I just worked something out that's rather very simple.

I'll see if I can repeat me good fortune.

We make our own fortunes.

Gosh this game can be like a marathon.. So here's me cheering on all the good sports!

still smuggling but these days it's little blue pills for mr smith and ms jones. It's a grind.

But I've almost worked out my thing. Happy to keep the Jones well stocked while the game is being upgraded. 31m and edging closer.

Hi Chaps,

I saw an article on Gal Net about a 10 percent discount at LHS some thing or other. Does anyone know if they have Pythons for sale there?

Thanks

Mr Ben

I'm nervous... 41mil in the bank and a ship worth about 20... I'm going to go for it Chaps!
I wouldn't do it till you have around 71 million (maybe knock off 10% from the cost of the ship if that's the route you're going), so you can cover insurance and a load of cargo

DId it work? I've got about the same amount as you and was wondering is the advertisement about LHS3477 true? Also do they give you 10% more on selling your ship plus the modules? Or was the 10% discount just on the purchase price?

Yes. I bought my new ship at the founders world. I've got a bare bones ;) Python and 15m in the bank. 2m I'm putting aside for insurance. 2m for cargo insurance. 2m to load up on cargo. 9m to spend on out fitting with cargo racks.

A picture of my new ship and a moment of joy, the Kono

I am a late beta buyer, wiped at Gamma, and I think once more during Gamma, and have stuck with it since, I have tried most things in game, hate mining, love bounty hunting, but to get to my goal (Python) I knew I was going to have to trade. I have been slaving away doing the trading 2 step for weeks, with the occasional rare circuit for my sanity. Finally this last weekend I could afford a Python with a reasonable jump range and a power supply that lets me move. Right now I am grinding up many more credits than it cost me to buy the ship in order to gear it out properly.
Anyone who has the cast iron balls to tell me because I used the Founders world pass (as is my right as a Kickstarter) I'm cheating can go jump in the big one, I invested time and money at an earlier date than those that waited to get the released game, and I won't feel guilty because I got something for that time and money.
I expect that I will be grinding away for many weeks to come before I get enough gear to make my Python what I want, meanwhile you can keep popping npc's in your vipers and cobras, or undefended freighters. If you come across me and you fancy getting your hands on my cargo expect a fight that you may actually lose.
Regards
StuPer

I'm sure lots of people have legit Pythons, just like me. Went from sidewinder, sold freagle bought hauler, then type 6, type 7 and bought a viper for bounties. Sold them got the Python. I only play 1.5 hours every other night. You don't have to be glued to the computer to get bigger ships.

Congrats mate. You just made what I'm aiming since the very beginning.

My story is very similar from yours, except from the fact that I started with a single Sidey and I have no Founders world access.
I’ve earned every single credit legally without cheats nor exploits, and I’ve come across almost all the ships up to the Type 7 with I am running now.
I still have a loooong long way to the Python so any good advice from you that already made it will be welcome.

Also, now that you are flying our dream do tell me, is it word the effort?

(I’m sure it is…)

I thought when I got my Python it would be more of the same.

Just a suggestion, as soon as you get you python in to a state where it can bring in cash quickly in a local system start getting multiple smaller ships rather than looking to the next one up. The python will let you get a small fleet of ships in systems that interest you and can easily pay for there up keep if yo get any dents or want to upgrade.

So for me the next step isnt a bigger ship. Its placing ships strategically for when wings is out and so it's easy to swap game play styles and get involved in everything.

I suggest the next ship after a Python is a D class haluer with an A class frame shift drive. Then go out and have some adventures and put some roots down in hot spots.

Sadly had to part with my python... I'll be back for her. The discount on an anaconda was too good to miss. So my new anaconda is parked up while I run mission in my cobra and while I think of a suitably smugglery name.
