You Know You're A Real Explorer When...

When your response is "Huh, what?" to any statement that the trip to [any system in civilized space especially if it is under 70 light years] is "too far and takes forever"

Takes you and your Viper 36 jump to make the same journey but since it is the economic setting, you only have to refuel one and the outpost has wonderful views so you enjoy the trip anyway

****

You still play the tutorials, especially the docking one, when you are making the return leg of the journey, to stay in practice.

When you start coming up with role-playing reasons for being so far from home (mine's an overnight flight from an unhappy love affair - I'm never going back to that coffee shop in Moore Gateway, the memories are too painful) to stop yourself asking what your real-world reasons are.

You refer to anything with a solar panel as a scoop.
You try to explain to your Wife what your doing ! (her only comment at the end was, we must be Millionaires now). WE?

When all other gameplay options are a means to the end of getting a better explorer vessel.
