Eagle is a wonderful ship, but it is really just a combat trainer. I've killed cmdr's in Eagle's using my T9, that pretty much sums up the Eagles combat ability.
Against NPC's it is great fun
You got off lightly in that video, it should have been over in 30 seconds

Never tried vulture , but did fight many vultures, loss some , but won more than losed
..and that wasn't including all the Eagles that get squashed under the T9 in the letterbox?

Hehe, I am happy to say my T9 has not accidentally squashed any cmdr's in Eagles or Sidy's
However, my T9 has been crushed many times by Anaconda's!
The Vulture is basically Eagle++
Similar handling, similar speed, much tougher, much more firepower. If you beat a Vulture CMDR 1 vs 1, you must have been vastly more skilled than him. Assuming he was actually fitting Class 3 weapons on those Large Hardpoints, he only needs a few seconds with a good firing solution to melt you. By contrast, with the Class 5 shield generator he ought to be running, he can absorb an awful lot of hits from your Class 1 guns.
So, if in fact you've beaten Vulture CMDR's in an Eagle, I salute your skill. That's very impressive.
I was going to say the Vulture has all the advantages in that matchup, but I realized it's not quite ALL the advantages... the Eagle is still a smaller target. But the Vulture is better at nearly everything else and equal at the few things it isn't.
The Eagle is a fine fighter to start with, and in the hands of a good pilot it can be REALLY hard to hit, but it is really crippled by its lack of firepower and its fragility.
Even CZ Elite-rated NPC Eagles, while they can be hard to get a bead on, die in a few seconds under a Vulture's Class 3 weapons.
If you're good in an Eagle, you will be a monster in a Vulture. Once you get the hang of the power management required to properly outfit one, anyway.
Cost to kill ratio, Eagle has to be the deadliest ship in ED. So cheap to replace, and worth loosing a few just to imagine the look on the other commanders face.
You got me wrong, never fighted vulture with eagle, but did with my main ship which is clipper.
But often I takes low end ships and go fight other cmdr's around eravate for fun.
Once I interdicted cobra master rank cmdr, he responded with fight, I kicked him with eagle, he run away, call friend in fer de lance, he interdict me , I submit in attention to run instantly, but mass locked lol, he killed me with FDL, he was faster than me, I could not run away. Tried with assist off and turbo turbo turbo but still he catch me, so FDL is faster than eagle, he killed me, I think he needed 5 seconds to kill me . But again fly with cobra , have master rank and call friend in fdl to join in attempt to kill me because master in cobra cant take down eagle expert lol.
This game is so funny sometimes when you fight other cmdr's.
best part of the video was when you were trying to

b) doing it by spamming your boost button with 0 pips into engines.

In my experience a half decent Cobra pilot with half decent equipment will be all over an A rated Eagle. NPCs have no chance, humans have a small chance. I't all about working with the adversary's weaknesses and the Cobra doesn't have any - it would lose in a turning battle so it never tried that tactic.

The Cobra definitely does have weaknesses. For one thing, its shields suck (nice hull, though).

A truly skilled Vulture jockey shouldn't be losing 1v1 to Clippers, either, though it's not nearly as one-sided as Vulture vs. Eagle.

Hey brother in your opinion which ship was your fav? If I recalled correctly it was the Clipper. In which following your advice I bought one. Holy dude I had been doing the same thing over Eravate about week now. I'm surprised I haven't come across with you yet. And you are right about a different type of fun, I haven't touch my python in a while. I mainly use a Viper now and a Cobra. I used an eagle just for kicks and I got blown up like 3 seconds against Vulture.

Favourite ship? That is too hard to answer. If I was forced to choose between a Clipper or Python, I would take the Python anyday. Fortunately we can have them all, so I try to keep at least 1 of every ship
