So why do I get wanted in Orerre when shooting ships with a bounty?

I am in Orerre nav Point, Anarchy system.
I scan a ship it has a Bounty but is Clean in this system.
I shoot at the ship and get a wanted status!!!

Last time I played I farmed this Nav Point and never had this issue.
It has now happened twice.

Why do I get wanted status for shooting a wanted ship. And why are there police vipers in a Anarchy nav Point.

Never like this last time I played

I'm not sure it's still an anarchy system. It's controlled by the Orrere Travel Company or something. At least, I'm pretty sure the Sharon Lee station is.

I think you always get a bounty if you attack a clean ship regardless of other system bounties. Even NPC bounty-hunters get it - I've been hunting them through this.

No, if you are in an anarchy system you will not get a bounty for attacking another ship, wanted or clean, as there is no 'authority' to make you wanted. :)

Umm, no. In an Anarchy system you do not get a bounty for attacking a clean ship.

That is correct, although stations still get annoyed if you kill somebody nearby. But not by the Nav point, that is strange.

Double check that it is still Anarchy. If it is, post in the bug forum.

Incorrect.

I tested this moments ago in He Bo. I KWS'd an NPC Asp in a RES. 40k bounty, but was "clean" in He bo b/c anarchy system. I opened fire, got a wanted status, and sys authority ships trying to take me out. was only a 300 cr fine, but yes, if they don't have a bounty in that system, you will become wanted if you open fire.

It makes NO SENSE.

To that system, he is a lawful individual. And you attacked him for no reason as far as the system is concerned. There is still laws in an anarchy system.

I've had systems that say anarchy on galaxy map but if you look bottom left it may no longer say anarchy. Galaxy map is behind the times. Only found this out after like you got a fine after hunting at a resort that definitely was previously anarchy.

That sounds very strange, as there shouldn't be any system authority ships in an anarchy system, as there's no system authority to 'employ' them.

My understanding has always been that you will not get wanted for anything in an anarchy system, so you might want to check that it actually is anarchy, and then submit a bug report.

He Bo is well-known. it's defintely anarchy. I'll submit the bug report.

edit: to be completely accurate, they weren't labeled "sys authority" but they served that purpose. They scan you, give you the "all clear" text, and they engage "wanted" ships. just to be completely clear.

How can there be laws in an anarchy system? The definition of an anarchy system is a system with no government or controlling faction, isn't it?

Sorry, but that's not correct. In anarchy systems there's no law. If there are security vessels in an anarchy system, that means that the ruling pirate faction is not in control any more.

Maybe all the BH activity has started to have an effect on the pirate factions in Anarchy systems, causing them to lose influence? I know I always ignore the unfettered factions when doing BB missions. Maybe it's time to turn a new leaf so to speak and start helping out the local brigand. Just so we can continue to have proper Anarchy.

Watering the garden, so to speak. :)

Anarchy does not mean no law. Just a very limited/zero ability to enforce it.

I dont even think that system is anarchy anyway. I was there the other day.

I just had a quick look at the galaxy map for He Bo. This is the system with Krylov Ring in it? While some areas of that system may be anarchic, there is a democracy government at that station, it's part of the Alliance, and there is a different controlling faction at Roddenberry Station, so I suspect it's not an anarchy system. As Steve72 says, check the system info panel bottom left in your HUD. That will tell you the controlling faction, and will specify Anarchy if there is none.
