oh edit: ftr I'm worth under 40m including assets. A pauper I'd imagine.

Since there was no credit wipe at gamma (a very weird decision tbh) then it's bound to be a backer, the question is which one.

Elite trader here but i've lost count of my total worth, i have 130 mil in cash and about another 700 million tied up in ships (my anaconda is a 380 mill beast).

Interesting, I don't feel so "poor" now...

I've got 40m cr in the bank, plus about 300m in ships. I've also been exploring for the last two months, so that was my worth two months ago. Not sure what it will be once I make it back to civilisation and sell my data, though I suspect about 60-100m on top is an educated guess.

there is a point, I find, where credits don't matter anymore, and earning them is something you can do for fun, rather than simply to survive/progress. I never really wanted an Anaconda, for example, until I discovered that it can get a few extra Ly on an Asp in jump range, so I will be making a "having fun at the same time" push for an Explorer Anaconda. Unless 1.3 brings a better explorer - though, I'll miss the view from the Asp.

i installed a 6A fuel scoop (28.7mil)and a 5A Auto field maintenance Unit(8.5mil) rest pretty basic Explorer build and as to the "why?" why not when you have the cash

Oh right, I forgot a maxed out scoop is so ludicrously expensive. I have a C on mine and it still tops off the tank before I've achieved maximum scoopage. Still I suppose it's worth shaving off an extra few seconds if you're rolling in money.

you cant have more than 4 billon cr due to this game being 32 bit only. so there is no single person that is the richest commander unless they cheated.

Back at the start of January, a server bug gave about 50 commanders over 5 billion in credits. The money was taken back after a big backlash from the forum community.

Just because the client is 32 bit doesn't mean it can't handle 64 bit numbers.

There is a certain griefer who possibly took advantage of the old bounty system and made over 4 Billion from it, remember innocent till proven guilty(I think FD investigated and let him keep his dosh)
The thinking is he is now griefing as he can take any and all losses(I have seen some of his videos)
