Homicidal run

Sounded depraved, vindictive, and well, interesting to start with. Then I figured out you just meant you're going to kill defenseless transports and run from competent combat vessels. Not exactly a "Blaze of Glory" man. Not gonna whittle your funds surviving encounters intentionally. Can I have your stuff?

It turns out that hunting CMDR transport ships and outrunning wings of 4 FDLs/Clippers get old fast. I burn only 100k/session for rail and autocannon ammo + repairs. I calculated that I would run out of money around the end of 2016. I don't have that much time to waste so I went ahead, cleared save and uninstalled.
The run is officially over.
You will be back... ;)

Have seen so many kids announcing to quit playing "enter game name here".
There, attention, you got it.
I am in solo but will join the adults in Mobius on my next session.

The OP does raise an interesting point though.
Once you have reached the top in ships, bought all the guns and modules.
What do you do with all those millions?
I like the idea that once I've reached Elite in all three disciplines. Bought the biggest ship and equipped it.
I would go on a murder rampage until total annihilation!

  • Chips and Salsa- I have had enough of your creeping calories, I post to the Frito-Lay forums that I am gone for good after I finish my last bag, of course

I think perhaps where FD needs to revisit trade is the system populations. In systems where there are fewer than 50 million persons an individual trader (or smuggler or pirate) should be able to make a difference. Also, especially in Federation space there should be major corporations that always are offering jobs hauling goods to and from the various points of the supply chain. And who is hauling large goods like finished ships to dealers? Where are the mega-corporations? Speculative individual traders as in Elite should actually be rare in an advanced economy.

Rage quitting on forums is interesting. I wish folks would leave really detailed feedback though. Few persons expect to play any game forever, it is really OK if you stop playing. In Spring, Summer and Fall my game-playing is less than in Winter because outdoors. While 1.3 will be very interesting in the summer I may not play much at all (and my daughter will want to commandeer my gaming PC with school out). However, this game will see me coming back for years due to the agile, incremental process FD is following and 1.3, 1.4, 1.5 and expansions...

I'm currently checking out Hawken waiting for 1.3 to drop. But probably I should grind up some credits and rep soon before taking another break.

What I don't get about this whole idea is that if Elite Dangerous sucks so bad, why don't you play something that... you know... you actually enjoy. I mean, do you have so much free time to burn that you're willing to spend it on a game you've gotten sick of?

I spend 8+ hours a day in front of a computer every day doing things that aren't fun. It's called a job. The absolute last thing I do is waste a second on a game I think blows. Apparently other people think it's smart to do otherwise. Because that means that the game has become your job. Different strokes, I guess...

I personally plan to see what happens when you reduce a stations hull to 0 if I finally snap.

Nothing. Absolutely nothing. The universe is immutable and unchanging without the blessing of the Devs. Sigh.

Just read an article that sums it up best: 400 billion channels, and nothing's on. [Ref: Polygon.com]. Hopefully Powerplay adds at least a little depth to the galaxy.

If you're bored because you've done it all too many times, and you've got so much/many Cr that nothing is too expensive any more and you have nothing to strive for . . .

Wipe your Save and play Ironman - You will do the same things differently and they will not be the same.

All the STUFF you have is worth nothing to you - but in Ironman the very little you have is everything.

This is honestly an unacceptable option for an MMO that is only 6 months old. It's not unreasonable to expect some sort of "end game" to emerge. The entire marketing behind ED is explore this giant galaxy and make your way in a 1:1 real simulation. This isn't like playing Super-Mario and wanting to experience it all again for the first time. A number of us want to progress and have something meaningful to strive toward. Again, since this is an MMO, it's not odd for folks to have these expectations.

He probably just didn't want to admit he failed to kill a lone Type 6 Transporter and had to flee with a broken canopy. True story.

I haven't seen that particular instance occur, but I've seen similar things happen. One Adder completely smushed a Python and Local became full of obscenities from the poor loser's friends. It's kind of pathetic really.

Fair enough if you don't want to play any more but I'd have recommended keeping the game on your PC and just playing something else. You never know when you may get the itch to try it again. Could be in a few weeks time or maybe a few years time. Odd choice to uninstall it though unless you're really that low on hard drive space.

1. Load up on SCBs and chaff
2. Interdict random people
3. "Excuse me sir, do you have time to talk about our Lord and Visionary, Braben?"
4. Hang around as long as possible making promises about content
5. As your hull hits 0%: "c u @ e3"

You need to go out in style.

Are you allowed to give your account away? Can people who ragequit just send me their login details and i can have some extra accounts plz? That way someone who still enjoys the game can have a little extra fun.

Nope you can't. Account selling and sharing has been said to be the only thing that you get instant perm banned for 1st offense. I guess that is considered worse than hacking or griefing by FD
