Anyone other than me planning to clear save when 1.3 arrives?

Hoping to get a second character slot at some point, so No I will not be resetting my main character.

spot on !!!!

No I won't reset (just got Elite in Exploration) , but would love to start a new character from scratch without support from my main character :)

If I have to clear my save to find excitement in the game that's when I know the game is stale. Expert, Tycoon, Pathfinder... Fully outfitted Python, trade worthy Anaconda and 70 million in the bank. All in open, never played private or solo. I will never clear my save :) I am hopeful that Powerplay will bring a more interesting end game that doesn't necessarily involve avoiding death squads.

I've come too far, invested too much time(way too much but hey, i really love it) in this game to even consider deleting my save and start over. That would be like shooting my own foot.

If I ever wished to start over, it would mean buying the game a second time.

Frankly, the only reason to clear your save in this game is if you've started not long ago and messed up your reputation so badly with the major factions that it would take less time to start over rather than grinding your way back into their good graces.

Not that I am interested in wipeing what I have done, but, how does one wipe their "Save"? I was under the impression that this is an MMO.

I am a casual player, playing a few hours a week. Started on launch day basically.
What I have enjoyed the most from the game has been the little play, the constant development and building up of credits from slaving away, buying a C upgrade thruster from D for the Viper, or finally having enough money to buy point-defence on the T6 while doing rare trade runs.

However, it is a little boring having to start Power Play with credits already, completely missing out on the content as a fresh Sidewinder pilot.
So I thought about completely clearing my save, despite having only 6-7 mil credits in the bank atm. Could be fun to try and haul myself up through the ladder from scratch with all of the new player base (which didn't exist in December) using Power Play as a crutch.

What are you going to do when Power Play comes out?

TLDR; Clearing my save when PP arrives, what are you going to do to spice up your Elite love life come 1.3 (pun intended)?

You must be joking:):):), flush nearly 4 month hard work down the drain for a tiny point release, not a chance:eek::).

Throw away 100's hours? No thanks.
I'm not really one of those guys that like to prestige.
Ask again when the first DLC comes out.

pretty much what most are saying. Why start over unless you actually achieved everything in the game? triple Elite, all ships full kitted, maximum rep in all faction, highest rank in all factions. There's a lot to do. Problem i see with those that want to wipe their save is what they have left to do they don't find fun enough to do.

It took me a long time to get my maxed out Vulture and Clipper. I started out as a Commander. Now that I command multiple ships, you must call me Commodore. Give them up to go back to a Spitwinder? Not a chance.

I have a problem with clearing my save, repeatedly. I think I've restarted my commander well over 10 times by now, and have probably given up about 30m Cr. It's not much relative to many other CMDRs, but it's enough that I always kind of regret it a little after I've done it. But now, after having earned a very nice bonus from the Wolf 406 CG, I think the most recent iteration of my character will survive for a while longer than usual.

I have a plan to reset my commander at some point. Basically The longer I play him knowing he cannot ever die the more bored I am so it is only a matter of time. The power play features don't seem like my kind of thing so probably won't reset because of that. Maybe after five ship insurance claims or something (I have two at the moment)

I can't give up my combat kit Cobra and trade kit ASP just for this release. If need be, can always start in a new sidewinder. I can't just wash away all these efforts like that.

Sadly this game give you no reason to start all over....and if you feel like you want to start all over, simply dump all your money in a ship and crash it....so you keep your status/factions and such, but starting with no money :)

Even with the new powers at play in the galaxy, there is really no incentive to start all over; since this game is grind based. You don't progress trough better equipment and ships because you level up, because of skills or because of story; you progress because you grind enough money to advance to a bigger ship, that let you do a specific job better.

This is no MMO where you roll a new class and try out the new mechanics; unless you love to play with your base sidewinder, anything require a considerable amount of time invested to get a better ship. And I doubt that the majority has the time to do so.

I am living in hope that eventually FD realise how stupid carry over from open to solo or group and vice versa is.
Then when they decide you can no longer move your assets from one mode to the other I will be able to have 3 chars, 1 in each mode.

I hope one day to logon and get a big message saying which ever mode I log into next will be where all my current assets are located and the other modes I will be starting with a sidewinder and 1,000cr.

But reset my one and only char that I have worked so hard on? NOPE !

If I'm "Allied" status with all three major factions (or powers?), Alliance, Feds and Empire, is that going to be a problem with the new update?
