A ramming Commander versus a wing of 4? Thoughts on our actions???

This is long, but worth the read Commanders

So…

I in a Vulture and 3 beginner Commanders in Cobras, were at a RES assisting in the CG in Autahenetsi. Had an amazing spawn of Anacondas, Clippers, and Dropships one after the other. It seemed after one went pop, a quick scan… There is another, no need to even wait. Credits we rolling in quickly, and the voice comms were chatty, and pleasant.
THEN…
I spot on my radar a lone Commander in a FDL. Being quite happy at the time, I sent “Ahoy! Great spawn going on here enjoy! Our wing is full, sorry. We will keep to one side and you can enjoy your spoils over there”. No response. Sent an “Ahoy” again, no response. My wingmen spoke languages other than English, so they sent comms in various languages, no response. I targeted him and moved in for a look see. Got on his 6 and followed as he engaged one of the clippers my wingmen were attacking. As soon as the clipper went BOOM, he used vertical thrust downward and slammed into one of my wingmen. Then immediately boosted forward into another taking his shields down and 80% hull. I then asked why the ram, he responded “Sorry, this thing is hard to handle” WHAAAA???
Needless to say, I kept my eye on him as he seemed to leave us alone.
THEN IT HAPPENED…
We were engaged with an Elite Anaconda, who was a tough character to take down. All went purple, and 2 of the 4 commanders were now wanted, no now 3 out of 4. The Anaconda was at 14% on the power plant. I kept engaging, hoping to take him out and then retreat with my wing to pay the fines and find out what happened. All of a sudden the FDL came across my bow slamming into my cockpit, and I clipped him with my lasers. DAMN, DAMN, DOUBLE DAMN!
The entire wing was now wanted, and comms was coming in that the Commander did this to the rest of the wing. I sent, “we will be back” to the Commander and he replied with a smug “LOL!” Well that got our goats.
We stopped at a local outpost to pay the fines. While docked, we chatted about never directly going after a clean Commander, but this was personal. After a few minutes of voice comms, and a few loud ARGHS! We decided that payback was in order.
THE PLAN…
I and another “decent” Cobra would perform the attack while the other 2 Cobras would be “in the area” to scan the RES in case the Commander had friends in the area, we would see them early and be able to escape. We jumped into the RES, and the Commander was still there and comm’d us “You dummies are back” WHOA, cherry on the top! The 2 wingmen moved about 15k away on opposite sides and I and the Cobra moved in. I armed beam and PA, and the cobra with beams.
THE ATTACK!
Cobra targeted his drives and I his FSD. Opened fire and he FREAKED! He boosted into an asteroid (LOL), and shields immediately went down. One PA shot took out his FSD and the drives soon after. Other 2 cobras reported no activity in the area, so we called them in to enjoy the spinning FDL. We sat there laughing, and sending comms to the FDL. We said “sorry, but you had it coming, we said the spawn was good and would not steal kill anything you attacked as long as you did the same, but you did not”. As we circled him, I said he will most likely reboot/repair (had to explain this to 2 wingmen what that was), he did and asked to leave the area. Being the educated Commanders that we are, we put it to a vote. I voted to allow him to leave, the other 3 said NAY! So we devised a nice way to destroy the commander, which we told him what we were going to do to him (then he begged to let him go). We all reversed thrust out a bit. On the count of three, we all boosted into him screaming ARGH!!!! He went boom, and I needed a tissue to wipe the tears from doubled over laughter.
We spent the next few minutes after the destruction collecting ourselves and discussed if what we did was wrong, we all agreed we will in the right with this one. We headed back to the outpost to pay the fines. We all began to laugh as one of our Russian Commanders began to sing 99 bottles of beer on the wall.
It was great fun and do not feel bad with the destruction of that Commanders ship. It was the principle and what was done to us could not be forgotten. As well as his foolish comms sent to a wing of 4!

Thoughts?

CMDR who can't share gets told in the strongest possible way that he can't play. I approve. :)

Possibly a bit aggressive but if he was smug as you say with the lol and the "you dummies back" then deserved it., just watch the 7 day bounties in 1.3 when they arrive.

I say he deserved what he got! I dislike this tactic immensely - it's only going to get worse in 1.3.
I would have left him spinning personally - force him to self-destruct :)

Reading 3/4 of the way down I thought you was an idiot, for not killing him, then I lol'd so hard.
Yes you did the right thing.

I was in a CZ far away from anyone else. I bought a sidewinder and was practicing FA off combat, all alone.
I never noticed the FDL enter and didn't realise until my shields were down and its too late.
Anyway, back I go and I abused him. I didn't pick a side and just kept ramming him to make him get wanted. I also picked his side and kept getting him wanted with friendly fire.
He had to keep leaving to pay off bounty and save his credits.
So yes we can get our own back against griefing at CZ. Even in a sidey against an FDL altho its still hard.
I just wish it was after PP had gone live now, cos he wouldn't be able to come back again.

Great story OP.

My favorite thing about my 800t Clipper is that I can ram rammers to death. A player Conda tried that on me - I just boosted at him and he exploded.

I've had the same thing happen to me. Hanging out at a RES, doing my thing, and the other CMDR flies in front me two different times. No response to comms or offer to wing up. Both times I had to jump out as local security want crazy and I didn't want to start shooting them down. This a new tactic ( to me at least ) to chase other CMDRs off a good RES point or NAV beacon. The ramming is technically seen as non-violent, same for flying in front of someones cannons/lasers. You have two responses : Leave and pay a minimal fine, or take them out and pay a bigger fine/bounty with possible reprisals down the road.
.
This is kind of like a grade school kid provoking a response from another kid, and then running to the teacher. Only this time the teacher is local security.
.
I resisted the urge to head back and hose his cobra down with my vulture, but it took a bit of internal struggle. I didn't want to spend the money I am saving for a python on fines more than I wanted to watch him burn.

I haven't been logged into the forums for the past two weeks because I couldn't remember my password. I've just gone to the trouble of digging it out and logging in just so that I can +Rep you. Great job and funny story. Always nice when one of the %^&*&^%$ players gets their just desserts.

No they don't. Enemies don't spawn any higher than Master. 300m from bounty bonds and I've never seen anything higher than master as a wanted ship.

(I know this is a little OT), but I have the same experience, though some say they've seen higher. Is it a 'hard' limit, or is it dependent on your own combat rank? I'm a Master, and have never seen Wanted craft higher than Master in a RES (I've often seen higher enemies in a CZ).
