What PP Faction Will You Choose?

None , i dont like any. All plutocrats and infantile Lords or their stupid inbred offspring. ;)
Let the Feds and Imps rip each others throats, we are all better off then.
;)

Cheers Cmdr's

And if you like BladeRunner you should support Pranav Antal ;)

"the chance to begin again in a golden land of opportunity [and adventure]"

Hope his faction controls Zaonce...

I'm probably going to play for the Fed faction that gives a bonus to bounties. Tired of trading for now and it has a really good boost. Once I get a feel for how powerplay works I'll probably join the faction that has the cool spider logo. They seem to have the least amount of systems and I'd like to expand them.

If these powers are meant to be temporary gates to the treasure chest behind them, I'm obviously going for the full shopping list as everyone else with half a brain*.

*Nah, I'll join Arissa as planned, and I'm going to be a real pain about the reward system, if this is the full scope of the "masterplan". If I wanted to grind for reputation gear, I could stay in STO you know. That's Star Trek Online. And they have reputation grinds for various factions there to get items. Do one, then another, then the third. And so forth. Deja Vu, or just a glitch in the Matrix? Stay tuned!

I've long ago decided to align myself with the Empire. As for which power, that's something I've already decided on when the recent struggle for power and the Imperial Succession became public.

My choice is Arissa Lavigny-Duval.

While I do appreciate Denton Patreus' qualities as military leader, especially with regard to the recent reappearance of possibly hostile Thargoids, his actions also have destabilized economies in and close to his sphere of influence. Aside from increasing military production, he has so far done nothing for the Imperial Economy - and I don't really expect much in this regard from him. I'm somewhat liberal when it comes to blood line, so him not being a Duval has little influence on my decision. He disqualifies for me because he's too single minded.

Aisling Duval might possibly be the most legitimate successor, regarding her heritage, but her political agenda is way too radical leftist. Abolishing imperial slavery, that's also abolishing an important social safety net. So far she has offered little alternative to this. Don't think she'd make a good military strategist, so far she's been mostly reacting and band-aiding. She disqualifies for me for being too radical, too controverse and not showing enough initiative.

Zemina Torval who? A senator previously specializing in trade relations with illusions of grandeur. Nope.

Well, that leaves Arissa. Initially I thought not much of her, spoiled child of imperial blood, a flowery playful princess. But her recent efforts in Persephone have won me over. Under the guise of charity, she provided the refugees of Quivira with supplies for a most probable recapture of Quivira. While also improving general commerce in Persephone and neighbourhood. Denton Patreus must either have underestimated her or overestimates himself when he single-mindedly kept on "ing around" in Quivira, attempting to turn the mostly depopulated Quivira into another war-machine factory. Arissa's efforts to combat corruption will surely not sit well with the senate, challenging their status quo, yet she remains undeterred. And now she offers the "Imperial Hammer"? That's a no-brainer for any self-respecting imperial Bounty Hunter, Agent of Arissa's Justice!

Lawful, just, smart, shrewd, open-minded, traditional: all the marks of the future Emperor/Empress of the Empire! Bask in Her Glory!

I've long pledged my allegiance to Arissa Lavigny-Duval. The Powerplay Update and it's "Pledge Allegiance" button is merely decorum, ceremony.

The federation is boring, they dont even have slaves.
The alliance is too fractured.
Piracy could be an option for me because those guns sound interesting but ultimately you are a target for all the other factions. Also im not as interested in chaos, piracy and destruction as i am in Stealth and assassination, less hatchet more scalpel.

I will probably end up with Arissa, i like the rail gun so a better one would be nice and the bounty increase would be helpful for getting a bit of cash while practising my aim. That said she seems very lawful and strict, while that may be good for the empire i'm less a cop and more an spy, maybe she has an opening in one of her intelligence agencies.

Aisling would be a good choice right up to the moment the shooting starts and then no amount of influence will help her, which is a bit of a shame since she is one of the more interesting characters. If she could just give up on the anti-slavery thing and maybe get a nice little fleet together to show she isnt toothless then maybe i could consider her. Do the special shields sparkle?

Denton Patreus is a good military leader but too focused on his own little world and doesnt have the creative thinking that is required to keep the senate in check and a knife out of his back, specifically my knife if he keeps knocking over every tin pot independent government just to make himself feel big. The empire should not need to bully the lesser worlds, they should want to join when they see everything we have.

Zemina Torval would make a good partner to any of the others, although im not sure what a bunch of miners are going to do with the special mining laser when faced with beam lasers and plasma accelerators in a fight.

Depends on how you look at it. I always acknowledged that as being the case before, but Powerplay kinda shows otherwise when you take into account there is only one guy to pledge to.

The Alliance may be lacking in options, but that tells me they're nowhere near as fractured as the Empire is about to be, to use the single biggest example.
Just an observation.

Having said that, if Mahon turns out to be a dong I won't hesitate to defect. haven't heard much about the guy, but on the other hand, I haven't heard anything bad. That'll have to do.

I will not choose any faction in PP. Tired of grind.
Exactly this. I will ignore PP. When I want to grind, I can go farmville (I wont)

and when I read things like "I´ll go for Arissa because I want that railgun" ... I mean, wow, that´s immersion.

First I will join Archons pirate faction, steal the shieldbreaker gizmo, betray their stupid ass, then join Aisling's Angels. Her policies are questionable, her public comments are downright embarrassing, but she is adorable and baskworthy. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night supporting any other character. They are just horrible people inside. Avril Lavigne or whatever her name is sounds reasonable.
