Just got a T9 ... loving it!!

Finally traded my way up to a T9, but was a bit worried about the reports of it being a pig to fly.

But I'm loving it.

Yeah it's no spritely combat ship, but, for me, it flies really nice. Docking is a breeze - full speed, boost, boost, boost (while lining up using thrusters), through the slot, land. Simples!!

After only a couple of runs, I even ditched the shields and added the extra cargo space. Only clipped a couple of ships so far, so only minor repair costs.

And the credits roll in at a fair rate of knots (currently making about 6M per hour) so I can fund a nice combat ship soon.

Just thought I'd share my views...

Bought mine yesterday. What do you guys do with a naked T9 when interdicted?
I got 500 cargo with shields and I am thinking about a docking computer...?

The T9 is a fine ship, that's for sure. Great visibility. Industrial chic. It's slow, but makes up for it with good lateral and vertical thrusters. Skimming the side of a station then precisely drifting through the letterbox is a rare pleasure indeed.

I also recommend outfitting her with gimballed lasers and heading to your local RES for a spot of bounty hunting. The excellent distributor, good weapon placement and comments from other CMDRs make it an entertaining, if slightly surreal, experience.

I have a T9 and have loved it since i got it. fro some stupid reason spending hours trading back and forth has not gotten boring for me yet.
I have got shields and laser turrets for when i think 'screw this i wanna blow something up'
I have a docking computer just because i like to kick back when landing. though i am looking forward to the update just to get rid of the jitters.
i love lining up the envelope when leaving a station, sitting there a moment thinking to myself. if only i could watch this from the outside... while hitting full thrust and boosting out the front door.
i can only imagine what the station dock masters must be thinking.

i just wish this game had a cinematic camera mode so i can spin around my ship lazily while still able to open hatches, lower raise legs and just be a twit while smiling.

have fun you T9 junkies :)

and remember dont drink and fly

The T9 would be perfect, if it didn't have that darn crappy jump range.

Better jump and it moves into 'conda territory. Really nice as it is now, love the feeling of a heavy duty space truck. Only thing that breaks the immersion is that one pretty soon hauls very expensive stuff like slaves and palladium in something that looks more like a bulk freighter.

so what cargo space do you have on the T9 , I had a T6 for ages just stepped up to an ASP with 90 cargo and 23 lt yr jump

I use a class 5 shield, so getting 500 tonnes of cargo inside the cows belly. She only jumps 13 Ly though.

So you're not worried about being interdicted but are worried about your docking ability?!

I'm finding that funny for some reason!

The docking computer is just there to automate the last part of the process while I research other stuff on another monitor, the T9 is easily dockable. Most of my game time is in Mobius, but even in open, I've never been interdicted except by NPCs and they're easy enough to get away from.

You throttle to zero and negotiate. But you don't trade in often traveled systems. Out in the sticks on the 2nd or 3rd best route is where the money is made.
a type 9 with all boosters and an A5 shield only gives you 307 MJ of shield. You weren't going to last long anyway if you choose to run boosting at 208M/S while being mass locked from an asp.

The asp should be able to do 120 and some cargo (shield less) and with decent fsd still do around 20 ly in one jump.
10 more cargo than what I got out of my t6 and more range.

Granted don't bother trading in open but never needed shields since the entire trade system is npc you don't have to bother with busy systems.

Wow 500!! It wil take me along while to save up enough to buy one but I will think about it

500 is massive, but it also comes with a price. T9 moves at 200 m/s with full boost so docking takes a while. Crashing with 500 tonnes of palladium also hurt the wallet when it comes on top of that 5M insurance fee. Just keep playing and have fun and you will reach that 120M credits that is my recommendation for a T9 (99 M for the ship, 2 x insurance fee and cash to buy cargo with). The feeling when approaching a crowded station, turning on the headlights and announce that "T9 incoming" is so nice!
