PETITION to have HUTTON Orbital renamed to :---- wait for it.....

'TIPPERARY' DOCK,, It's long long way to go!!.

Bit of Elite fun, in all Sirius-ness though, it's a really long way, should be changed...

Any others folk can come with?

Answer on a post card, to Hutton dock, send it now, gonnae take a while...

I wish it had been called 'TIPPERARY' DOCK from the get go, but I think it is now too famous to change. I'm also hoping that it won't benefit from in-system jumping. There has to be something there to remind people that space is a little further away than the chip shop.

I think you're lost.

Hutton Dock is quite near at around 4000Ls. Hutton Orbital on the other hand is 200,000Ls (0.2Lyr) away from the primary star.

Totally disagree. Everyone says it's remote because you can't jump and supercruise there within 5 minutes. Waaah. A lot of us have a longer commute to work than it takes to get to Hutton Orbital. Also, I would have to guess that if Coriolis stations DO service the planets they orbit, a trip planetside with the requisite atmospheric re-entry, would take longer simply due to friction.

No, there is no need to nerf the Hutton Orbital distance. However, I would nerf the damage one takes getting there. Although it is entertaining to read the threads after someone looks at their hull condition, a tweak does need to be made there. If Frontier does not nerf the damage incurred making it to Hutton Orbital, then the prices at the commodities exchange should reflect the damage one must take to get there. Sale prices should be high, and purchase prices should be low.

As it exists now, the market prices don't reflect the cost incurred to get there and that is the much more unrealistic in terms of the dynamic than the actual distance and time travelled.

There is another station further, if Hutton Orbital is 200.000lys, then Gurshtein Hub, in LTT 537 must be further then, as it notes as being 389.000lys from Primary star...?

Anymore further out than Hutton then?

not quite right, 0.2 Ly is ~ 6,311,385 Ls

Hutton Orbital is .22Ly from the star so that's ~ 6,942,523 Ls

Hutton orbital is seven million Ls away from the main star.

1 LY = 31,536,000 LS. Hutton Orbital is .22Ly, so it is 6,037,920LS from it's primary star. It's a good distance. At 1600C it's still a 1.2 hour trip.

Everyone has to make that trip at least once! FD need to make a T-Shirt available on the merch store- you know, "I went to Hutton Orbital and all I got was this lousy T-Shirt!" (...they'll be £25 quid please minus 30% Valve tax ;) ).

Shame once you get there though it's nothing special (except the journey if that floats your boat, erm sorry ship). FD need to change that- at least some rare items or good commodity prices.

Oh, and therefore I guess it's too infamous now to change...?

Hutton does have rares. It's just that it is expensive to get there. Like I said. I have no problem with the distance. I brought up the steam overlay and surfed the web. But I do have a problem with the repair bill, which is excessive, especially in larger ships.

This damage cost should be reflected in market prices. You should be able to sell your cargo at a premium and you should be able to buy items at a discount.
