That was the free merc edition ship

No that's a part of the mercenary package. You have both that and another. I'd have to search for the post where that was announced.

That was included in the Mercenary edition of the game. Beta backers got another ship in addition to that - which is one of five as yet unannounced ships.

It's in Newsletter 49 - the infamous one where single player was nixed.
