Ridiculous ship builds

Didn't see anything quite like it, so why not?

Using the magic of ED shipyard, I have devised an idea of why not make builds that are both silly and completely unorthodox and probably won't work?

Two such examples;

Missiles. Everywhere. Why? Because why not?

Fastest Type 9 in the galaxy, with the biggest fuel scoop available. Gotta Scoop fast.

I'm sure there can be some purpose for either of those... no ship build is completely "won't work" in Elite it just depends what you use it for. As long as they have FSD then they work.

This isn't WoW or ArcheAge, there are no fail builds.

Missiles do barely any shield damage now so all missile builds are pretty much fail builds :)

If it is a fun build then it ain't a fail build, lol... no one is saying that you go out there to pvp people with it.

No one is telling you to take that build and go to CZ, lol.

Maybe it will be a fun build to mess with a funeral/wedding group.

When I was tooling about in an Eagle, I fitted it with a pair of rail-guns, just to see what would happen. Tore an Orca to tiny lil bits in a matter of seconds. I dropped the rail-guns when I realized the low ammo-count. Fun, nimble gunship but not very good for bandit hunting to be having to rearm every 20 min.

570 armour, play around with silent running...

(Am going to try this out just for kicks actually...)

Well, tried this out the other day, though only had class 3 hull reinforcements since that's all the starport had in stock, then did a bit of sparring with a friend in his Viper.

With some careful heat management and silent running, no target lock on me until at least under 1km distance, though visual tracking still works of course. And outside the range where the radar/sensors are able to track properly, I appear as a blinking uncertain contact on the radar, not as a hollow square indicating another player.

Toughness... hard to really say. By the time I got his Viper's shields (only one shield booster, C-rated if I remember correctly) down, he'd managed to chip away about 7% of my hull, but that included having some trouble hitting me as well. Comes with the downside of course that hull does not regenerate, unlike shields, so your time on the battlefield is ultimately limited. But could make for some interesting playstyles...

I m using missile boat for pvp and it work perfectly in Wings ;)

Yup. missile boat works very well as long as you either have room for a laser to get those shields down (because missiles are poor against shields) or a partner who can take down the shields.

I think ship specialization is something people often overlook.

Could you go and get a cytoscrambler on that and really mess things up?

Rockets are ridiculous.
