Elite Dangerous..........

I stand corrected. Just done a bit of research, I was wrong, you guys are right. I am now as disappointed in myself as I am with the game direction. I mean forcing a traditionally single player series into multiplayer worked so well for other game developers...
As long as they don't add a monthly charge Im still in...

i agree Alex, a monthly charge would of been disastrous, and I'm happy your still enjoying your experience buddy :)

no probs mate, just pointing it out before you got mobbed ; )
as for a monthly charge! i think that would be very difficult to implement now, they'd probably have to abandon ED and launch "Elite: Deadly" to be able to do that.

I'm having dejavu as I swear this is OP post was repeated in a thread a day or two ago?

Anybody noticed?

hello, certainly wasn't me buddy, I have posted before but months and months ago, maybe someone with the same mind set ??

nice to see though you read through these posts, regardless of how long and boring they me be to some :)

You know what, I'm getting really tired of how oblivious the community seems to be about the current state of the game. Sure, OP's post was pretty garbage, but the fact that there ARE a huge amount of issues that should have been fixed a LONG time ago is still very very real.

There really isn't much keeping me and a lot of other people here at this point, and at this rate we won't be here much longer. Unless FD gets their **** together, you guys can have your dying game, I'll be somewhere else.

Don't get me wrong, I want Elite to succeed so badly, but THIS is not how it's going to happen.

So to summarise.

1. Another generic whine about Solo/Open (get over it people).
2. OP thinks he's a better game designer than Frontier.
3. Generic ranting about pet features not being in the game.

I would like proof for statement 2 please.

Otherwise, goodbye.

just my opinions buddy, and not sure where I said I was better than anyone in the FD team ???

Thank you for your post though :)

Fraud is just my hypothetical term for what I see buddy, supposedly but not necessarily true.

thanks for comments though :) I must be colour blind ;)

In fairness mate if you feel you were sold something on a false premise then 'fraud' would not be an inappropriate term and I'm wrong and rude to label your comments as daft.
So apologies, I might not agree with your comments but should respect them.

I think OP has a few good points.

This game is a single player game and will always remain as so. If it had been sold as single player experience during the KS then I would not have backed at all.

I have no problem with the game being a single player experience at all, I just wish FD would have said during the KS that the open is just an experiment to test FD's skills at making a muliplayer game. I think they have done it badly and the Complaint threads and "moaning" is a reaction to this.

I for one as an extremely early KS backer and premium beta player will most probably never really play ED ever again.

In fact, I find these forums more entertaining than the game they are supposed to be supporting, which is pretty sad.

For me the promise of a true living universe where I can RP to my hearts content is star Citizen.

I of course will be having loads of fun playing on these forums because it is funny as hell to read the pointless circular arguments made by the ED zealots and Lack of content haters.

Yeah, I think your right. To quote Brett from Alien. "Same old poo man". Except, he didn't say poo.

Hello, could you send a link to this other post buddy, curious now, honestly though, if your able to see my posts I've made you'll see it wasn't me, unless he/she could see into the future :)

thanks though for bringing this to my attention :)

I'm simply stating a fact that pc gamers want to have fun with a game whilst being stimulated by awesome gameplay, graphics etc etc. I did on my student loan help Star Citizen and Elite Dangerous develop and therefore I play both beta programs (see what I did there) please understand when I say Star Citizen is going to be an amazing addition to this genre, it's so immersive, more than I've ever experienced from any 'space' game. For the graphic heads, it's outstanding, not merely spherical objects with a texture a young chap for 1st year university could produce from within 3D Studio Max, be realistic here guys.

So here you say elite Graphics are "merely spherical objects with a texture a young chap for 1st year university could produce from within 3D Studio Max"
Compared to a previous post by you

So i'll start with the good. This game has amazing graphics, ship, station they are detailed and look awesome, so does the space environment, especially the stars. The sound effects are ear blastingly good. The flight model is epic you have total control of your ship and dogfighting looks and feels excellent.

What changed?

So, how many times can someone leave?

ED is still the best game out there for recreating the experience of climbing into a space fighter cockpit, like the old days of Wing Commander and X-Wing. The graphics are just ok,

The graphics are gorgeous in the high-res screenshots and videos.

Elite’s MMO side is very underdeveloped. To work as an MMO you’d need something close to aspects of EVE, which lets you do so much more, as of now, as I stated, the game is a wasteland of procedural generated pretty much everything.
.......
Player trading still is not anywhere to be seen. Player made bounties are all but an urban myth. Missions other than fetch quests ? Does anyone know what I mean when I say 'Remember Iron Man ?'. Passenger missions ? I do believe they may patch passenger missions eventually, however, going from what I've seen so far, it will highly likely to be yet more fetch quests, basically I mean treating passengers simply as cargo.

ED needs more depth with tools for player emergent content as you said and more variation (station decoration for each power, random scenarios at USS and RES). I hope they'll add those things.

So you are a star citizen fanboy. Elite Dangerous offers the most realistic simulation of the Milky Way Galaxy. It needs more content and variation though.

THIS.

I seem to be playing less and less these days. I think FD lost the plot somewhere.

Unfortunately I agree, obviously though from my post, hopefully though the future will bring better things within this game or a good stepping stone for other games to come, I am certain though that this game has certainly pushed things somewhat.

thank you for your post buddy :)

I fail to see how people that don't want to play open being forced to would improve it. They just wouldn't play.

This. I know a few of my friends (who, like me, started with the original Elite on C=64) were very disappointed with ED needing a constant net connection. Forcing them to Open would probably just make them close their accounts.

Rep for the turquoise font though

As someone who is using a forum theme with a white background, I respectfully disagree here.

i thought there were going to be narrow minded peops thinkng I'm a fanboy of this and that, if you want to say I'm a fanboy, get it right, I'm a fanboy of this genre, and Elite Danergous and Star Citizen I'm sure will lead the way for some amazing games in the future :)

thanks for for your reply buddy :)

surely you guys could come up with a little more educated criticism than that :(

ok then... short version

I could not disagree more.

And where do you get your stats that no money is coming in? as i understand it sales are going well.

Whilst I agree more content is needed for the long term, right now I am over 500hrs in and still enjoying (I may not feel the same if i was playing on a monitor however, VR makes even the mundane exciting)

IF no more content was ever released for the base game I would feel ED was a huge missed opportunity, but still I would have gotten my monies worth (taking off the £40 for the expanison pass)

but I am confident more content WILL come. That being said I always thought of ED as a single player game with MP added on as an extra. perhaps I would have felt different if I was not after a new Elite game.

Thankfully a new elite game IS what i wanted, and is essentially what we got.

The graphics may be amazing to you buddy, I really don't think they are, I played the game on 4k and they really are not anything special if you realistically look, especially how people keep mentioning the planets, they are spheres with a half decent texture at best.

its good we disagree though right :) and thank you for your posts :)

as said before, it's good you disagree, however, I understand they aren't, maybe I should of changed the bit about no money coming in, I'm sure people are still buying the game, just not many. Also, where did you find out that sales are going well ??? I certainly didn't find any true stats about no sales coming in, as I said I should of changed what I said, a little harsh I guess, but I also fail to see where the stats are that state the game is selling quite well.

thanks for reply though :)

I just wonder what Frontier has in store for us next :D 1.3 has been a fine addition to the game, and as always the game will be patched and tweaked to set the right balance. Frontier is advertising the game very good with giving us newsletters and updates along the way. Its a game in constant evolution. I feel Elite is getting dangerous again after having been a bit to easy, but hey I always welcome easy "credits", but to a certain level. Now in my Asp I feel I have to work for the credits again especially with bounty hunting/pirating. Big bounties are not so common anymore it seems and taking on a expert/deadly foe is much harder. It might take a little time to get the Fer-De-Lance. But as long as the game is feeling challenging, who cares. Its good to have something to look forward to also. I am now trying to bounty hunt and pirate at the same time in an Anarchy, and I love it. Credits are lower, but I am still waiting for the "mother load". As long as the game is challenging and fun, and it is evolving. I have no problem with it. I still dont understand how people can complain about a game of this magnitude which is still under development. Okai there are bugs, but these will be fixed.
