A Wanderer returns... or Hi Honey I'm Home!

Greetings CMDR's,

after nearly 3 months and 3200+ systems I have finally returned to civilisation in the slightly battered and scratched Asp "Lightly seared on the reality grill".
I originally set out on the 13th March for a quick jaunt to the the Pleiades nebula, and got slightly sidetracked.
After visiting the Pleiades, I noticed the other nebulii were 'only' a short hop away;), after the Horsehead, Running man, Orion and Barnards Loop nebulas (as well as a few others), I found myself at the California nebula. From there I headed straight 'down' as far as I could get and attempted to head core-wards at that elevation, after lots of backtracking I came back up a few hundred LY's and zig-zagged my way inwards.
Somewhere around this time I finally worked out how to filter for stars on the Gal-map and started using neutron stars and black holes as waypoints, it worked for me as I knew I would have a decent system at the end of each 'leg' rather than something random.
My plan at the time was to head to the core on the elevation I was on and then head straight 'up' to Sag A via the Great Annihilator, which I eventually did after been delayed slightly by a discovery of a neutron field and a meet up with another CMDR for a little exploring duet near the core.
After Sag A I was going to head out of the core a little to make plotting easier then head straight 'up' before making a slow return to civilisation or possibly heading on to the other side of the galaxy. However a chance encounter with a neutron star cracked my already damaged canopy to 50% and decided to head home as fast as possible. Well as fast as getting distracted by ooohh shiny! would let me.:D
I got home on Tuesday after an uneventful trip in, didn't see one other ship until the last 200 LY.:). Selling the data however was a total pain, around 15 hrs in total.:(
And now the stats!,
as I was just popping out to the shops metaphorically speaking I didn't really equip for exploring, I set out with a fully armed and lightly shielded Asp with 28.8 LY jump range and an A3 fuel scoop, that scoop nearly made me give up a few times it probably added a few days to my trip.

Total Systems scanned: 3263
the lvl 2 & 3 scans seem to be still bugged as the lvl 2 didnt change but lvl 3 changed to 9698
Ammonia worlds: 18
Earth Like Worlds: 19
Water Worlds: 204
Black Holes: 75
Neutron Stars: 725 (half from farming, half from waypoints)

I made around 128 million from the trip, so I'm still a little short of getting Elite in exploration, something for the next trip!;)

Some pics in a bit, just need to resize them.

Some pics!

turns out to be a black hole with a blue nebula.
more pics to come later.

Well done! I've been noting your progress on the galaxy map whilst we've both been online - good job! I'm still... erm.. Far, far away.

Some nice pics, too!

A nice report of your exploration. Gave you a rep for it.

You mention something about filtering the stars on the Gal-map.
As an explorer myself, have not yet figured out how that can be done.
Can you give me some info how you did that filtering?

Greetings from close by the Cave Nebula

Go to options on the Gal map and select star types, then turn off everything but non sequence stars. That will show only neutrons and black holes iirc. I usually leave wolf rayet stars and the other couple on the bottom switched on too.
Welcome Home Commander!

great pics & hope the therapy goes well

The therapy is going great thanks, trying a Vulture out at a CZ.:D

Welcome back, can you go here and spend 2 minutes filling in the template for me ?

p.s. I thought(I might be wrong) that Level 2 scans were without a detailed scanner ?

Fantastic trip, Commander...and well documented with pics.

Thanks for sharing a glimpse into your journey with us. As others have said, I don't not fancy your therapy bill after a journey like that with a um....well...not ideal....fuel scoop. :O

+1 Rep!

Strange? I dont have that option "star types" on the ingame galmap.
