Credits - Am I doing it wrong?

So, I have a T-9 and it seems like I am making about 6mill an hour. Yet Its still going to take days of play time to buy anything of value from here (Basically an Anaconda), to spec it out is going to cost weeks of play time. Am I doing something wrong??

yes, you're expectations are miles off. If 'anything of value' is 'the most expensive thing in the game', then yes, it may seem slow.

Well, thats the thing. The Jump from this to that is HUUUGE.
Even just upgrading the T-9 is excruciating - 46million for thrusters!

Sounds good to me. If your goal is an Anaconda, yes, it will take time. I was doing the same thing you are doing now, and it took a bit of time. I was lucky to get one when there was a discount. I also hopped in my Vulture to hunt as a break from time to time. The new missions are profitable now, so consider mixing that into your bag. If all you want is the Anaconda, then grind that T9. Also remember that the base price for the Anaconda, gives you a rather weak ship. So I made sure I had double the cost, for upgrades. My Anaconda is setup as a trader/explorer, so it is not that strong for combat, and has only one hard point. The rebuy is ~7 million, so factor that as well. Good luck!

Edit: I have B thrusters on my Anaconda. The A are 51 million

Nope, this game has always been about putting in time. Your T9 should be worth about 100 mill second hand. You can trade it in for a Conda and make up the difference. 6 mill an hour is only slightly below average, in two hours you can afford a maxed out Cobra, in an hour you can buy a maxed out Viper, one trade run buy's you a maxed out taxi hauler, a few hours of work buys you a nicely kitted out Asp Explorer.

Just enjoy the ride, I enjoyed flying my T9 so was happy to trade and pay full price for the Conda. Also keep an eye out for deals, community goals or fast way's to make a buck, they turn up every now and again.

You are making cash the fastest way currently possible. A full trade T9. One question though, what is your trade route and how much are you making per ton. If you want to possibly find a better route, here is where you should go, http://elitetradingtool.co.uk/ and then you can make a bit more cash.

You really do not want to pay 46 mill for thrusters on the T9. Bigger is not always better. Go for D7 thrusters on the T9

I am using eddb.io at the moment, three hop trip turing ~1mil a hop. But they're 60ly jumps at the moment.

But it turns sooooooo slowly hahaha.
Don't get me wrong, I am enjoying it well enough. But there are freemium games out there that are more generous with the currency!

In my opinion, you are too focussed on the destination.
Sit back, relax, and enjoy the journey.

I have worked up to the verge of a T7 at the moment. I traded to get up to my Asp, then went and did what I actually wanted in the game. I explored for a bit. I now want to improve my Asp's exploration, so I need more money. Therefore I re-spec'd for trading and am back on that. I'll soon be in a T7 and that will mean I can make almost as much money doing 'boring' trades as I currently can on Diso Ma Corn - So I'll head out from there and trade more safely in open again. Once I have enough to upgrade again, I'll get that T9 I've been promising myself. Then, the 28MCr fuel scoop to re-fit my Asp for exploration.
For quite along time, my goal has been to get to Sag A*. My road has been long and winding, but I have enjoyed much of it. There have been a few potholes, but I haven't blown a tire yet. My 'destination' is to see the entire galaxy. My ETA is somewhere around the year 153,100, and I am going to see such sights along that road!

Well, now that I've done some quick math instead of guestimates I'm doing just shy of 12mill an hour. So not terrible, I guess I'm just going a bit stir crazy looking at the inside of this cockpit going into hyperspace every 30seconds lol.

six millions / hour is about 5 millions more than you ( or anyone ) should be making regularly imo. This game is meant to be played for years - so pray tell me where is the sense in making the most expensive ship available in a couple of weeks ...

Frankly if I had to spend 100mil on a ship to make a 1mill p/h of game play I'd not play. I have wife/kids/life outside of this game so it needs to be viable to play. There needs to be SOME sense of progression to keep people interested.

Should be able to trade for a week and get the 'conda if you get 3 hours a night.

I got the T9... Traded for a week, bought the 'conda.
(Had an evening in Vulture too)

.

Well then don't

as do I

The sense of progression is much to fast as it is...

The game would be a commercial failure if it was any slower think. You couldn't keep people playing or get them to buy it after a while.

You're probably right, I was just looking at the cost of things and thinking "... me."

It's supposed to be.

There's still ships to be added. You should have been here on release. We had, what, 14 ships? Sidey -> Eagle -> Hauler -> Adder -> Viper -> Cobra -> Type 6 -> ASP -> Type 7 -> Dropship -> Orca -> Python -> Type 9 -> Anaconda. The jump was massive after the Type 6 and did not scale in the slightest.

I've been here since BETA man. Holy crap it took me a long time to grind res sites to the Vulture. My big break was the Lugh CG, I got 20mil in that which let me get a T-7.
I know there are more ships to be added, I just needed to have a little cry in this thread.

Worth bearing in mind that you can head into Li Yong-Rui's territory and get a 15% discount on ships and modules. Should help to ease the pain somewhat.

Posts like this.... I don't even..... Have T-9. Earning 6M an hour. Takes "too long" to get an Anaconda.

Let me ask you this, OP. What is it about a maxed out Anaconda (aka "super easy mode") that will make you enjoy the game more?

It don't matter. If FD adds a massive absurdly expensive battleship (see 50 billion cr) people will demand to earn500 million/hour. If you cannot get the most expensive thing fast there 'is no progress'. :(
