I have found my gaming habits have changed because this game is so unique I play it with a different state of mind, i have gone to pee while my ship heads towards a station as I jumped out too far (crashed) or got caught with BBQ chicken fingers at the wrong time and had to muck down during interdiction's (luckily I keep a box of tissues next to my comp as a result of another supercruise habit xD)
So maybe, I was thinking a discerning space trucker might have some in-flight movies, those monitors behind the seat could play movie files from a folder selected in options and the seat could swivel to face them, this way I could stay entertained through the long haul bits all the while maintaining the immersion of the game, I also think getting caught with your pants down could actually work out to be fun.
I think this is realistic also as the respect for the distances involved is real along with the realness of having to sit and wait while trying to reach them would most likley be complemented with something to do while driving, this is a thing I noticed about driving and flying planes in real life, driving you cant take your eyes of the road for a moment but the air is a lot more forgiving as theres less to watch while space this would go even more so.
Some systems could even have a channel, some people could even submit stuff to be played in some systems, the game could throw a few adverts inbetween, this will add imersion.
