Nope. The shield, if you switch off the booster, it will be faster to recharge to 100%. But then if you enable the boosters, the recharge will resume to charge the remaining.
Shield recharge shield is constant, no matter what shield rank/class you have.

If shield would recharge 10x faster when we are docked, that would solve the problem from a gameplay perspective.
If hull/module/integrity repair would take some time, it would solve the problem from a realistic/lore perspective... ;-)

Silly question, but why can't you leave the station before the shields have fully charged? You don't (normally) fly straight out the gate and into battle...

Just curious, don't shout at me. ;)

Edit: Don't shout at my frog, also. His eyes REALLY bulge when he's stressed. I'm sure they'll pop one day...

Which system?
What is your commander name?
What time?

Michael

Horn didn't work at all until second time: BST 18:13, Boson Higgs, HYPOE FLYI JX-B C16-1010

and:

Horn reported bodies (count shown in text), but not added to scanner/nav until second ping: BST 18:35. Boson Higgs, HYPOE FLYI OO-P C22-1205

There are three separate double-scan problems:

- surface scanning: it scans, reports success in text, but not in the scanner, KEEPS ON SCANNING, reports success
- discovery scanning: you ping the system, it reports nothing (except the one you get for being close); you do it again: it finds 25 bodies
- discovery scanning: you ping the system, it reports finding 25 bodies, but nothing appears on your scanner or navigation window; you scan again: they appear

All three happen ... basically all the time. As in, 1 in 5 systems I visit will have at least one of these 3 issues.

Edit: the first happened 4:23 BST, Boson Higgs, scanning HYPOE FLYI VI-T C6-326 1

If you want an example of the other two... well, any system I've visited in the last 2 days where I haven't (according to the system) discovered all of the bodies ;p

Yes, yes.

So, I am out on an expedition and I am becoming increasingly aware of scans not succeeding on the first attempt, the nav console says unknown at the end of the scan, even though a message is displayed in the info panel informing me that the detail scan was complete. Then the scan cycle appears to start again, at the end of which the nav console is updated with the details.
Also, when I D-Scan, I load up the system map and it is not populated, even though I have been informed of x number of discovered objects, so I D-Scan again and lo and behold the map is populated.

Repairs fixed? Whew! Just in time! I just had my tail feathers singed badly by multiple NPCs in a CZ. At least I know it won't cost my earnings to get things up and running again :)

Do these various patch and update announcements now also apply to the Xbox One console version of ED? I assume the answer is YES, but I wanted to be sure that I am bookmarking the correct update section of the forums.

Anyone who knows the factual answer to the question... Your reply/answer is welcome!

Cheers.

Not an authoritative answer, but my understanding is that server-side patches will apply to XB1, but client-side patches will be bundled up and released to XB1 less frequently than PC and Mac.

Well, I'm just sittin' in my taxi Sidewinder on the pad in Cubeo system. I've pressed Launch button but the clamps seem to stuck and the pad won't release me!?! It's now 5 min like that. o_O

Edit: Ok, restart have helped. LOL weird.

Please don't forget to add a "recharge shields" button in stations so I don't have to sit for 15 mins in a station waiting for my conda with 8 boosters to recharge shields.

Le sigh. I don't want a band-aid that replaces just the old band-aid (supercruise hopping) to super-slow shield regeneration. I want this addressed for good.

One thing that is unmistakeable about these boards: the literacy and grammatical discrimination of its users. And yes, a colon was the best choice back there. Pure oxygen to the sensible mind.

I might be missing something obvious, but why would this be a "band-aid"?
You refuel your ship at stations. Why not be able to recharge the shields there as well?

I think it's the most logical option and not a band aid. That way shields recharge normally everywhere outside of a station and in station you can recharge instatnly like you would repair and rearm.

Having a different recharge rate in supercruise doesn't make sense.

All beta versions are in a separate universe (and servers) to the main game so any normal updates will have no effect on it.

That's a no.

Shields are a replenishable defense. Ultra-low shield recharge rate would be the same as an ultra-low fuel scooping rate - utterly annoying.

Oh I do not want a different regeneration rate in SC. I want it to scale with class and rating of the shield generator.

As long as you pay for the privilege, the same way you pay for fuel and repairs, I wouldn't mind this. Cost would have to scale according to degree of depletion and size and strength of shield.

I don't quite understand how the 1% repair cost works.
In my repair screen, the unit repair cost for my 14.5M power plant is 14,562CR.
So does the unit cost correspond to repairing 10% damage?
Or to 1%? In that case, it's wrong, because 100 x 14,562 = 1,45M which is 10% of the base cost, not 1%.

A "unit" is 10% health. You can check this with something that is 96% ..and trying to repair it. The cost will be less than what the "unit price" says it should be.

Edit: I never understood the need for "unit" pricing, its so convoluted. It should be a straight up "what does it cost to repair to 100%. You can still have repairs in increment..but at least you don't need to do any backwards addition / subtraction in your head.
