RES spawn rates are poorly...

RES spawns are totally broken. So frustrating.

My friend and I have been jumping in and out of RES points for 4 days now and have got maybe 4 mil between us in all that time (maybe 30+ hours of playtime?). With 1 ship re-buy and the high repair costs as they were over the last few days, we have virtually made nothing. This is absolutely NOT OK.

People claiming 10mil an hour (every hour?) in this thread are just trolling as far as I can see. There is absolutely no way that is happening.

Struggling to maintain interest in the game with things the way they are since 1.3 dropped, getting real tired of eagles and cobras with tiny bounties. Needs to be fixed.

10 mil an hour = 1 mil every six minutes, unless you have 100% bounty bonus that's tough to hit

Actually it's not tough to hit. I keep reloading the site until it spawns Clippers, Pythons, Dropships, and Vultures. I only target those. Each one is about 200k. I wouldn't pull a hair for an Adder. Takes me less than a minute to make those Deadly ranked ships blow up with my Python (Closer to 30 seconds actually). After an hour, I'm usually on my last Shield Cell Bank, and only have 200 bullets left in my multicannon, so I go cash in and reload. Usually still have full shields and 100% hull too.

How long did it take to get that much?

But then again, stack a few of these up....

Your opinion is worthless to 99.9% of players. For that mission, you need to be Elite status - as in already ludicrously wealthy (as one can see from your >500 million credit bank balance). As in there's virtually no point to money for you. If there was, you'd realise that mission is a) extremely hard to get and b) totally worthless. 40 pirates for 2 million? Utterly pointless. With the spawn rates I've been experiencing in 1.3 that would be about three hours of RES-time. Three hours for 2 million - and only if you are Elite already? What bull.

Bounty hunting has had the absolute bejesus nerfed out of it in most systems. That said, patches have made them no longer worthless and there are certain areas where RES have never been more lucrative (although the lower spawn rates mean less fun).

This was a "good" Spawn for me:

I reset a hi RES about 10 times before giving in and just playing what was given. I never got anything above a Cobra, but there were 4 Anaconda defense ships, and two Python miners. I'm beginning to think there is a bug spawning the big ship pirates as SDF or miners instead, and "holding" that big spawn slot unless they get killed (which is unlikely).

I earnt most of my pennies through RES hunting but i have resorted to fitting a tonda took me well over an hour to get a decent spawn going and only earnt around 6 mill for the hour i was in it. Im doing a 2 jump trade thats giving 2800-3000 a ton round trip its a far more stable income at the moment.

As your rank increases does the ships spawning rank increase also ?

I just made Master rank last night (thought it was a nice touch to get an email stating such in the comms panel). I continued playing for about an hour more, and did not see any difference. All night, before and after the rank gain, I had the same experience as Soopyyy's video shows. But maybe it will be different after I log in today. We'll see.

I'm not so sure yet if it's even proper that these RES should be BH metagame/credit grind features, as mentioned before by others. But if you can get your head around that, the thing that is ridiculous is that RES have to be 'either or' when it comes to the spawns.
Shown by the fact that many players are simply resetting the RES and getting different spawns, it obviously has nothing to do with the present factions, the system government type or the reserves type in the ring. I wouldn't mind if that was the case, it would be pretty cool actually. But what we have is FDev randomly generating ship level type at the outset, instead of simply generating random ships from the whole assortment of ships in the game. Why? This is dumb. Why this separation in the RES spawn and not a decent mix in all RES of all types of ships? Why we gotta fart around with this idiotic RES re-setting?
I like credits as much as the next guy, but it's the sameness of the combat against the same ships spawning that makes it more annoying than the lack of big times credits for me.
Also, while the AI seems to be able to jink better in 1.3.05, do you notice in Soopyyy's video how the first Imerial Courier he engages does not even fight back? I don't think it fired once in the whole fight. Surely after it boosts away it could turn off FA and come around once in awhile to get off a few shots, even though it's less maneuverable than the Vulture. I experience this way too often, and it's beginning to really bug me.

I preferred it when RESs were Resource Extraction Sites, not bounty hunting grind farms.

But isnt this game just for people who want to go pew pew, pew pew!

They need to be able to earn easy millions without risk, by shooting things that barely fight back otherwise the game is broken.

RES farming was more boring than trading, and easier, simply mind numbing. Target, shoot, collect. Endlessly repeat.

I've always prefered cz's for pew pew action, least you have to keep your witts about you.

+1. Exactly my feelings at the moment. Tried PowerPlay for the first 10 days or so. Then some real life Uni work meant I couldn't sustain a Rank 4 in Powerplay, so Powerplay now offers me NOTHING money-wise. Rank 3 and below in a Power means very little to no gain.
So, in the following 10 days I was back to my normal busy routine which means 1 hour per day at most = relaxing time.
This resulted in me no longer being interested in PowerPlay (which is actually ONLY exciting for those who want/can invest a lot of time in it).
Thus, back to RES 'farming' I go, only to find out that this is still broken (can't keep spending so many hours LOOKING for a Hi RES - Low Security that actually WORKS as advertised). It is beyond me how you can make the credits people claim to score in an hour, which makes me think that these are random + rare instances, which leads to RES farming being a matter of luck.
I can't see myself playing this game anymore for that 1 hour per day that I want to relax. It just feels boring and unproductive.

Well, yeah, if FD actually gave combat credit 'farmers' another way to make a lot of credits as quickly as that (ahem... Conflict Zones can't even generate profit), then we would move their and not complain about RES.

NOTHING in the entire Universe is more boring than trading in Elite. And I too prefer CZ excitement over RESs, but you simply can't earn nearly as enough credits (at least that was the case before Powerplay killed them).

Don't let your shields go down and any kill in a combat zone is pure profit. I'm not sure why you would claim otherwise.

This is exactly what I am talking about.

I mean compared to a big Wanted ship that would give around 50,000 - 100,000 credits for destroying it, you have to waste MORE bullets/cannon shots etc. on a CZ just to get around 10,000 - 20,000 for the same kind of ship.... Maybe not a straight up deficit, but a HUGE waste of time if you want to make a good amount of credits/hour...

iirc it's 64k for a conda in CZ. Add to that ships are spawning constantly and there is no idle time.
