Anaconda Explorer

Anaconda Exlporer

I heard somewhere in the forum that you can configure a anaconda for exploration in a way it jumps up to 40 light years. Can someone please send me a link with the configuration using ed shipyard?

Keep in mind with the current V1.3 Tear & Wear costs in place - the T&W costs of an Explorer Anaconda will be insane....

That's been adjusted. The costs are back down to something somewhat reasonable but as i've noticed with a lot of explorers that use condas they don't worry about the hull integrity. It can reach zero and you won't blow up.

I was out there with a Conda for some weeks now - and i am happy to be back and change back in my ASP. The reason ? The Conda is to cumbersome to navigate in SC. If you overshot a planet (for detailscan) you need significant more time to turn than in an ASP. Also the fuel-consumption is higher so you have to refuel more often. i am really not sure whether you are faster in a Conda with its ~10% more jump range compared to an ASP because of this aspects.
Also the weat&tear bill for the Conda is really insane ... i am at 0% integrity and should pay 14 million !

Are you sure you're happy with taking almost 4mins to fill only your main tank? The shipyard doesn't list how long to fill all your tanks.

I did notice that but think it's the time taken to fill all the tanks - main and modules.

When I remove the extra modules the time taken switches back to 44 seconds which is about the time it takes me to have a gander at the system map. :)

TBH I'm still wondering how I'll manage the extra fuel modules because they do put a major dent in jump range.

Hmmm something's wrong with my browser, when I remove the tanks, I get no update to the scooping time, so nevermind!

I've done my exploring in the asp so far, but the anaconda always appealed. Maybe once I get elite done in trading, i'll take off into the black for a few months.

Some of these builds for jump range are looking really interesting, so thanks for those.

But one question I can't test right now. Can you boost an Anaconda with 5D thrusters?
That depends on your power distributor, if it hasn't got a big enough capacitor you won't be able to boost.

I wouldn't worry about it however, boosting is unnecessary whilst exploring.
