I think some of us were rude about this game

I just wanted to tell that, well, some of us been rude about this game....

some of us waited for other features, because we were mostly dumbfounded....

to be precise, i come from Elite 2 .... so i didnt really knew much about elite 1984 unless being , maybe , a ''dumbdown'' version of elite 2....

but lot of players comes from elite '84. I guess lot of players were rude on this game, because they were awaiting the ability to visit planets, and bases on moons, and whatever...

we all wanted that , because it was in elite 2.

but what we have to think is that in elite 84, this wasnt here...

it was only space exploration. and despite it, you know what , it was still just an epic game.....

so forgive us, FD and others, for the rude players that expected to see more from the galaxy of ED, based entirely on elite 2 or 3....
this game is just awesome .

thank you ! :)

It has nothing to do with planetary landings or anything else from Elite sequels yet to make an appearance.

People get upset because big open world space game doesn't offer them the specific mechanics they (with rose tinted glasses) want from whatever space game they remember enjoying on much simpler machines. Big space games have trouble keeping up with consumer expectation.

Dem 69er's being the rude ones. :D

Hell yeah those spacewar guys are just foul mouthed trolls

i played Elite in 84. loved it then, love ED now. duno what all the upset is about.

i would like to have my own system to build and develop though.... :D

Reminds me of this. Edited for rudeness!

Brian: Excuse me. Are you the 84'ers?

Reg: Flap Off! '84ers'. We're the 93'ers! '84'ers'.

Francis: Wotsits.

I think some appear rude as English is maybe not their first language.

I think some appear rude because much of what was intended can be mis-read and/or mis-interpreted.

I think some are rude because they are writing in the 'heat of the moment'.

I think some are rude because they think it advances their argument.

And some are rude because they are trolls.

And finally some moan and moan and moan because they just enjoy it, and are firmly in the 'glass half empty' brigade:

Where there is passion there is always intensity. We must sometimes seem like a big whiney furball to the devs, but I hope they know that in the great majority of cases it simply stems from a longing for the game to realize its full, enormous potential. The sky really is the limit with ED.

i think part of it has to do whit that ED is a crowdfunded game, and it is the ugly backside of crowdfunding.
it brings allot of entitlement and that everything that has been promised should be delivered "right here, right now".
still i think its not so bad over here, it could be allot worse and we can see a prime example of that over at star citizen atm whit the storm that is going on there because their "stellar marines" module got delayed.

The greater the game, the greater the expectations from the game.
and this is a great game.

As to rudeness? This is the world of forums, what else should be expected?

to those that are confused :

I mean some of 'em, including me, were bunch of rude fanboys because we thought that game partially sucks because we could only skim throught space... never going to see the planets, etc , because we compare this to elite 2

but in elite 1984 , this wasnt there, and it was a marvelous game still.

that said ED isnt obliged to do planetary landings...

maybe that would be too big for the whole game
