Imperial Eagle mk3?

If that's the Imp Eagle, it still needs a lot of work. This concept is just a kitbash of Imp Clipper Nacelles on the ends of the eagle's wings, literally keeping the old reverse thrusters and adding the clipper's. Also just has an oval plate on the top for some crude aesthetic. The in-game I-Eagle would have, IMO, a frameless canopy, or at most, a minimal frame and better integration of wing nacelles, with the wings having that patented Imperial organic-themed structure. Armament also needn't be any better than the standard version of the Eagle.

Looks sexy as hell.

I'm going to guess 2 x small hardpoints underneath (same as Eagle mk2) and 2 x small hardpoints on the nacelles.

I'm not keen on the spoiler. IMO it should curve slightly and not be flat. But other than that, it looks good and fits with the lore.

Will it be balanced with the Corvette on release? Imperials are getting most of the fun toys, while the rest need moar!

I can't imagine Core Dynamics, supplier for the Federation, would make an Imperial Eagle. Maybe Gutumaya, the scumbags, stole the designs to the Eagle and are producing their own versions. As long as it's weak as a Condor, I don't mind. The Imps get everything; Clipper and Courier. While we, the Federation, have only the Dropship. The Corvette better be a better fighting ship than the Clipper, perhaps even the Anaconda.

I'd Like a Federal Eagle as well, And maybe a Federal Heavy fighter/gunship. I'm waiting for a <Vulture-tier fighter with 2 small, 2 medium and a Large weapon mount. Like a Viper+ preferably for Fed only. Also would like Gutamaya to have the "Hunter" from the concept art as an open to all design, It's too angular for Imperial stylings.

The Eagle MkI was a Faulcon deLacy ship.

The one we have in game is the MkII Core Dynamics (Federal) version.

The Eagle Mk3 was the Imperial (Gutamaya) variant of the design, which came out after the Core Dynamics one but ironed out the flaws. Compared with the MkI, it trades jump distance for faster normal-space acceleration.

The Federation have 3 faction ships compared with the Imperial 2, but two are sold on the open market due to Federal principles (Profit First). Just because they don't appear on the ranking structure doesn't mean they aren't Federal ships through and through. Get out of that silly box.

The exclusivity is kinda the point. Nobody minds differentiation between the major factions. But the preponderance of benefits given to the empire is what generates a fairly universal sense of unfairness amongst feds, and it would only be increased if the empire got another exclusive ship, at least before the feds get the long promised but curiously absent ones.

Speaking as a fed. Of course, that doesn't even begin to consider the position of the alliance aligned, although at least they probably know they are signing up to be underdogs.

Needs more curves if it is the Imperial Eagle.
I'd like to shoot the Gutamayer designer who keeps putting weapon hardpoints as far out on the wings as possible. Every time I look at my Courier I can see three or four small hard points on that beautiful nose and two mediums on the wings close to the fuselage. This is because I prefer fixed weapons though. ;)
+1 for some more Federal/Alliance ships soon!

I'm on board with this. A Gutamaya ship needs a more open cockpit and a much more organic look. One similar to that of the Courier would be nice. I wouldn't mind 1 additional small hardpoint for a total of 4 though. You could use fixed lasers on the belly mounts and gimballed multicannons on the nacelles.

Also: More shiny blue lights :)
