Elite ideas....Post em.

I already forwarded the following to the developers, but here it is again.

NAV CAMS! Use the Debug Camera Engine to provide us with preset camera view options for PORT, STARBOARD and AFT. These can either be fixed mounts, or on a gimbal so they can be moved around, but the need for actual real time VISUAL feedback beyond sensors is really needed to provide more of a view out into the galaxy we are playing in. The AFT camera in particular would give us the opportunity to watch the star we always start at fall back into the distance as we head out to whatever station we are heading to. Might also help with getting an actual visual ID on a ship about to interdict you while in SC?

I mainly want the cameras for docking aids as well as for just eye candy, something to do on those long schlogs to those distant outpost stations 420,000 or further from the landing star. The hooks are already there in the DEBUG Camera. They just need to be made into an actual useful feature.

Really great stuff everyone, im completely onboard with just remapping the entire controller. It is definatly about time, and I doubt we would ever see this but id like to move my left and right pages on the flightdeck as well. Or at least swap them. That aside id love for an exterior view as well, too often proper site-seeing requires a change in course. Also I somtimes stream my gameplay and it would be very nice in that respect.

The mega-ships are a great idea and I hope that they pick up somthing like that up. Theres a huge galaxy out there, are we going to be "stuck" in the pill. I think large colony or economic ships could be used to make really far-reaching colonies and poweres far far from sol. Also the thargoids are rumord to be capable of gigantic constructions, so too should humanity be, one day.
For all the flight assist-off folks out there id also love to see some kind of reading for my vector? Please Please Please
See there I asked three times, ive got all sorts of suggestions but im shure FD can do somthing better then I can think up. Id ask for even a degree marker, knowing how much of a turn im making would help as well, but just a vector marker with prograde, and retrograde would be the best update to any game ive ever seen.

I would like to have a favorites section in the Navigation tab, so I can save up to x amount of systems so I can set a course to them without having to do a search.

Let the developer develop the game?

:D S

Im sorry who are you?

Ive been with this development process as a tester since the start like many others on the pc, and Frontier has many times expressed their interest in our opinions, some of which have been implemented. These were some of the backers ideas. If you don't want to be apart of the dev process than thats cool. But please don't come in here trying to push your opinion, you are aloud to site and let this game develop just as we are aloud to pitch ideas to the devs which they again have shown interest in.

The devs support our opinions this isn't Bungie/EA/Activision we are talking about here. They came to us back when for support to build this game.

Is that what is happening in this thread? I see nothing new here, nothing that hasn't been discussed in the main forum or for that matter in the xbox forum. Do we really need more threads like this, clogging up any ability to find original and constructive posts?

Perhaps instead 1) read the forum for suggestions already done before (re-)posting them here, and 2) have a bit of patience and see what comes with the next patch, or 3) post in the suggestions forum https://forums.frontier.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=76.

Then go back to the other forum. Let us post what we want and keep your negativity to yourself. Did you go through and read each idea? Ive been on here a long time and my ideas have never been mentioned. You're just being an unpleasant individual, and for no reason. Leave it be, and let these ppl post what they want. Out of the millions of topics this is one of the most positive and is good for the community and the devs. Everyone post here was a positive post and ppl were enjoying it

Some of you ppl act like you're forum police. Ppl like you just lurk around look for things to complain about.

for xbox one. When playing as a pirate i think there should be an option to use in game commands such as give up cargo. For instance if I stop a player. I can bring up a menu with commands like drop cargo or drop have your cargo and give the trader the same options. When the commands lists pop up for him it should say comply and drop or cargo or don't comply. If the trader complies. The cargo should just automatically drop without the player having to jettison it, and if the pirate player opens fire on that ship then his ship should just auto destruct because he deserves it for not letting the trader get away after he gave in to the pirates commands. I think this would be great for xbox one because of the lack of communication that traders and pirates have between each other. Whearas on pc that isn't an issue.

I like the idea of having challengers.
For example:-

1. Flown 1000 km, 2000, 500, 10000km etc
2. Carried 1million tons cargo, etc...
3. Killed 1 sidewinder, 10 sidewinder etc (all sorts of ships)
4. Mining....differnt ores etc.
5, discovery...systmes distance etc.
Increments could be 1000, 10000 100000, 1 mill etc.

After reaching top challange there could be a prize for the CMDR...new painjob , better shields guns much like each faction etc.

Cheers

This may have already been suggested, but as a PC Kickstarter backer using a X52 Joystick, here is my gripe thus far.

1. Xbox One needs Joystick support.
2. If you cant do the Joystick support then switch the left and right YAW when the landing gear is down to thrust, as docking is horrid without it.

How about a companion app for mobile... aka destiny, so I can look at my new cobra while not in the game and have station commodity prices etc :)

I'd like to be able to jump within a system from station to station when they're beyond a certain distance apart. Arrival should be a fixed distance from them all so that some cruising is required.

Missions radius should be greatly increased and the compensation adjusted likewise.

Open Play missions - systems with more than 2 or 3 CMDRs in them generate time critical missions in several very close systems for another, random, CMDR to deliver something for a ton of rep or credits or both. If the mission is accepted, the CMDRs in the original system see an identical mission pop up in every station to murderise the incoming pilot. Everyone who accepts gets the same reward if they complete it. Delivering pilot can recruit other CMDRs, make a wing and share the profits equally or just go for it.

No such thing as empty 'strong signal', 'weak signal', 'unknown signal' instances. No. Such. Thing.

Long term mission chains that require, at some point in the chain, everything from assassination to scanning something and all steps in between, over huge distances.

Turning up at a space station, probably an outpost, to find it under attack by pirates. Pick a side.

I know it's coming ('soon' no doubt) but a space station viewing platform, inside and outside please. Now would be nice.

'Just missed something' events, like a space station heavily damaged, difficult to dock in, people needing evacuation.

Basically I just want missions to have some imagination and the world to feel a little more dynamic. Everything feels very static and samey.

So you're about to dock on say pad "30" so you fly in, dodge an eagle on the way but wait! Where is my pad, oh that one is lit up hmm nope, thats 10, nope that one is 15, oh the...nope 31 oh there it is "30" This is odd to me... why are there other lit up pads i see when all i care about is this little number on a pad in the huge station. Lets please remove the non essential lit up pads, only one i feel i should see is mine, it would make life easy

You're not the only person docking you know ;-) The other pads lit up are other players/NPC's docking pads waiting fior them to dock. But they could still work what you are saying by tying docking info only to the relevant ship. Come to think of it in real life traffic control would only give you your dock info, not light up your hud with everyone else's too. But I think it is done by design. David Braben always wanted the stations to give the impression of being alive with traffic and com's chatter, that there are always people going about their business and they are massive hubs of noise and traffic.

Love your other ideas :)

I want to fly in hypercruise together, when winged. So if anybody in wing is aligned and at full speed, the wingleader can initiate the warp and I can see my mates flying with me\next to me.

You're right he did envision this. Yes I'm aware its other ships. But I shouldn't be confused by seeing all the lit up pads..

So to make all happy.

My pad that I'm looking for is say... Green. All others are same color as they have been... Bam... Issue resolved haha

I hate that idea, I play on an xbox and its the lack of that type of xboxy call of duty nonsense that makes elite so much better. Kill twenty sidewinders and get an extra power boosted thing.. no thanks. I suppose if it was there you could just ignore it if you wanted

The little circle used tol ign up FSD target's is also used to point out your pad.

I can agree with needing the landing pads to be a little more clearly defined. There have been a number of times both on PC and Xbox where the color used to light up the pads blends with the station itself and makes the numbers very hard to read
