I think your heart was in the right place.....don't lose any sleep over it.....probably should have sent a friends request to the destroyed side's and if they accepted then message them and ask to wing up so you could drop some palladium to give 'em a leg up. :)

Yeah, I know. In the heat of the moment, forgot to capture the Cmdr names. Bad Monkey for that.

... then tried boosting away whilst I followed, offering the chance to come to a halt and receive a free gift of some pure, cold, Palladium. The only reply I received was "Sorry, a bit busy at the moment, my ship appears to be overheating", shortly followed by the spontaneous combustion of said ship.

This made me sad.

Well, I myself wouldn't really trust some Python who interdicted me with the appearence to kill me and telling me "stop now for free gifts!". That feels like you put a 10 bucks paper on a cord which leads to some deep sink you will fall into.

But the unPirating is a fun way to say hello to new players, might try it out at some time :D

i don't think your plan will ever work out as you intend. actually, because of you we will probably soon be reading a post like 'hey! i just was interdicted by a fat pirate and he didn't drop me anything! do something to stop this unacceptable griefing!'.

but it's fun to watch you having fun! :)

Great read, esp "...ship's heating up..." KABLOOOEY!
How could anyone vote bad monkey?

Interdiction is a hostile act. Next time, you could consider politely asking people whether they'd like some free money, instead of punching them in the face while screaming "DO YOU WANT MY CASH?!"

The mental image I got of that actually happening is hilarious. I actually laughed out loud :D

But to the OP, Nice Primate for sure. Just imagine how exciting it would be if you just started out in your Sidey, got interdicted, start sweating and expect to die, but then coma away with some palladium.

I don't think you do them good. You teach them a wrong behaviour and make them an easy pray for the next pirate.
If someone interdicts you than it's run or fight. There is no such thing as a friendly monkey interrupting you in real Elite space.
Interdict someone like me and you are dead.. I shot first .. and I don't need 10 minutes.

Perhaps you did not fully read my original post, but my "pray" consisted of Harmless rated small ships, not obvious combat vessels. My offer of 10 minutes was a way of underlying the futility of trying to fight a vastly more powerful ship with the weapons available on a basic Sidewinder/Eagle/Adder etc. I presume your shooting would be over much, much quicker. ;)

So what you're saying is there is a bunch of newbies carrying around palladium? Interesting.... :D

Not any more, I suspect. Experiment over, time to think up a new way mess with peoples heads (and potentially their credit balance).

I think Interdicting any player is provocative. It surely isn't indicative of benevolence. You could have veered off and saved the one guy from over heating. If I had the option to pick a middle monkey I would have. Your karma should largely stay where it is.

There was literally only a few seconds from his overheating message to going pop. Trust me, if there was time to disengage, I would have. Once all the votes are in, I can adjust my Karma balance accordingly, and plan my next experiment accordingly.

If it helps at all, I did carry out a near-station cargo drop for the only two Cmdrs from about 12 or so in a starport who bothered to respond to my hails, then followed me as I flew backwards away from the same station with promises of riches.

Come to think of it, that probably was a bit creepy.......one of them even messaged with "What the hell, I'll probably get blown up anyway".

He didn't. Neither did his friend.

Yep.

Those receiving these gifts may well hope for similar treatment in the future, may be less cautious, and may comply when flight or resistance would be the wiser choice.

Let me pull the plug for you @-@

I think if we collate this whole thread, we'll end up with the full lyrics eventually.

Phew, for a minute there, I lost myself.

Then they will have learned another lesson. Trust no-one, except the mad ape in the Python that is. Or not. Who knows, or cares?
