Plead of honor

Elite Dangerous suggests elitism, however the game should promote online play over solo play. What about lowering all solo income by 10%? It would be enough to entice more people to choose online play. Also minimal solo only criticism.
It would be nice to read patch notes with this implemented.

I agree with you OP, but until they do something to make Open worth it I'll continue to switch to Solo on my last jump before reaching my power's HQ system and the inevitable enemy CMDR/NPC camping and interdicting.

It's the same game in Open as Solo.

However, Open has a series of parasitic children, admittedly a small minority, who don't play well with others. Reducing Solo prices by 95% is still no incentive to go back to taking their abuse on multiple levels.

You go play your game, we'll go play ours. Maybe we'll meet someday, maybe not.

Oh god not this thread again... inb4 merge/delete.

As long as Open does not have a clear benefit over Solo (let it be income or power influence, etc), people are more likely to go Solo because it's less risk.

It makes sense for player that is going for minimal risk and maximum profit, but it kills the multiplayer aspect of the game, which apparently the Devs have no problem sacrificing (speculation of course).

So yea, "deal with it or leave" is the kind of attitude we are given as it stands from what I can see.

I say we DOUBLE trading income in Open.

Or -halve- it in Solo.

Either way, it'd be a GREAT incentive to play in open.
And it'd make people quit and leave. People keep saying gimp Solo like it'd have no abd effect's like this, why? Do you really believe it's good for anyone other than pirate's in open for the extra 2 or 3 trader's they'd see? I'm refferenceing the "halve the profit's in solo" not the "increase them in open" that may go by with minimal backlash actually.

What less risk is there in solo?

I would suggest you skim through the last 40 pages of this thread and you will have you answer and you will also be able to predict quite accurately what Dave and Jockey will screen dump to prove their "points"..

What less risk is there in solo?

That risk is both selective and situational. I have argued that the risk of other pilots is akin to the risk solo players take by not being capable of winging up. I will be attacked by wings of opponents in solo considerably more often, than I have been attacked by a Cmdr in open.
