An entire day of work and 2 mil cr gone

I did not boost out either I was doing my standard leaving speed of 70kph (got to be careful as it's to wide to fit sometimes). Also I was on the xbox version gamertag amercenary4life. Now I admit I am a complete noob at piloting large ships so I'm saleing my clipper and hoping to buy something. ...smaller must meet following qualifications less than 35 mil cr cargo 120t+ jump range 15ly+ ability to defend itself effectively and have a max fuel range of 180ly

This does not add up. Unless there is a bug in the xbox version, you simply would not get a fine if you went less than 100. If that was really the case, it might be worth a ticket. However, I find it more likely that you went faster than you think.

That's it this game is cursed I'm taking a good long break. I sold my clipper bought a courier and the game crashed as I was docking resulting in ship destruction.

Ah two more players who thought the rules didn't apply to them

AHiredGun - if you would have stuck at the 100kmh speed limit you would still have your clipper - fancy that!

DoctorHotWings - you were smuggling, you took the risk, you lost.

Of course you can both do the now standard thing of submitting a ticket, it seems that FD Customer Support is actively supporting stupidity and creating a no risk game.

Perhaps not boost out the mail slot? Seems like an expensive habit...

Comedy of errors.
I bet that all escalated in very quickly.

A collision under 100 should not result in lethal bumpage.
If you don't speed you don't get fined for collisions.
(I know you said you weren't speeding, but with all due respect Commander, you didn't even see the Hauler sitting right in front of you when you panic boosted... heh) ;) Then you blame him for being there.. lol

If you are absolutely 100% convinced you were not speeding, definitely submit a ticket and they will look into it.

Stick under the Station limit if you don't want to get caught up in ramming disputes.

I feel your pain, I lost three rebuys today totaling close to 9 mill. That's about 1/8th of my net worth, I had to downgrade my clipper so I don't lose it.

The entitlement system raising generation of people at work here it seems - who feel they deserve compensation or are the victims when they break the rules/law.

I speed all the time in stations - but if and when I die due to it, that will be my responsibility and accept it with grace.

The other day I lost a T9 with a full cargo of battle weapons. That hurt.. came back 10 mins later. Just suck up losses and carry on. This is what ELITE is all about.

Well the only reason this speeding thing was implemented was to deter player ramming at stations. So why is it implemented for NPCs?

This is not necessarily the multiple reasons FD may have had.

If deterrence for player v player was the only consideration, then there would be no bounties on players killing clean NPCs. There would be no fines or bounties for shooting NPC security, there would be no player v NPC crime, which clearly there is.

I am being deliberately pointed with carro

yet you are wrong, his statement ...

the only reason this speeding thing was implemented was to deter player ramming at stations

... is totally correct, as was stated by frontier. speed limit was their fix in response to major outcries on the forum because of station rammers. i'm afraid it was you who were a bit clueless on this.

doesn't mean his conclusion has any logic, though: regardless of what you hit, it's you, the cmdr, who are expected to watch your speed. the point of the limit is slowing *everybody* down so ramming becomes impossible or very difficult. judging by the absence of whining as of late, it seems to have worked.

Does a collision on the wrong side (red) while not speeding cause a Reckless Flying fine?

there is no wrong side and you'll get a fine whenever you touch another shield or hull when at or over 100m/s. even if you don't notice it, the barest touch is enough - cha-chingggg. you can smash other ships into the station wall at your leisure though, if you're below 100m/s. Probably you'll get a bounty if you kill someone like this, would have to try ;)

Simply exit the station under the limit, when outside look at the scanner point the ship towards a direction without other ships and boost safely away. Space is big, ships are small, not that hard to avoid crashing.
