An entire day of work and 2 mil cr gone

there is no wrong side ...snip... you can smash other ships into the station wall at your leisure though, if you're below 100m/s. Probably you'll get a bounty if you kill someone like this, would have to try ;)

Oh! I thought that the Green and Red were the Right and Wrong routes through the Letterbox. All this time i've been lining up the Green side... *sarcasm* all that time wasted...literally MINUTES of my life I shall never see again! *sarcasm*

Love the idea of getting bounties by low-speed ramming of NPCs...I should think my Scrap Loaded T7 has some mass! :p

Seems there's different severities of fines I remember speeding and crashing into a hauler. The initial impact took his shields out and I got fined - I then accidently bumped him again doing hull DMg and got another bigger fine I wasn't speeding that time.

Not too sure on low speed collisions .
I'll do a test tonight I don't want to risk blowing anything up so the next fat python coming to dock is going to experience a low speed head-on collision with a t7 should be fun - ill post if I get a fine.

yet you are wrong, his statement ...

... is totally correct, as was stated by frontier. speed limit was their fix in response to major outcries on the forum because of station rammers. i'm afraid it was you who were a bit clueless on this.

doesn't mean his conclusion has any logic, though: regardless of what you hit, it's you, the cmdr, who are expected to watch your speed. the point of the limit is slowing *everybody* down so ramming becomes impossible or very difficult. judging by the absence of whining as of late, it seems to have worked.

He stated it was the only reason FD implemented the station speed change - and whether FD commented to soothe players re: the change - it is clearly not the only reason FD did so - by the obvious, completely ingrained system where player v player AND player v NPC deterrence was already implemented far before this speed change.

So while the FD statement may be singular in this one instance, it's clearly not a change from their precedent and game design that places burden of criminal responsibility on the player equally when committing those sins vs players OR NPCs.

So no - not clueless, and parsing semantics to somehow believe otherwise when firing on clean NPC = bounty sets the precedent for intended game design deterring player v NPC ramming is what I'd call clueless.

By original design the green/red sides where not intended to direct traffic direction.
On the other hand many CMDR and now NPCs tend to go the green side, so it may be safer.
For large vessels there is no correct side, just the correct middle.

put in a ticket they'll give you a refund

Please.. Let's not encourage this "exploit". The ticket system (imo) is for game problems and important stuff, not for begging for your money back. Yes 2m is a lot but it's best to swear a lot then shrug your shoulders and carry on.

you shouldnt be able to put a ticket in for that , people should be more careful. its that simple and could happen to anyone. just because you lose a couple of million (haha) ,its happened to us all so stop the crying and get back out there.

fly safe cmdr david187

Update. I put in a ticket to report the problem not to ask for my money back. I understand that this happens it's a video game . So I'm going to use another exploit to make my money back fast. Rare trading . I hate doing it and I prefer missions as they are not so boring but I will make one round trip to cover my losses. Then I will go back to my home station and do missions. Rare trading comes in handy sometimes but it's not a way of life.

fair play to you

I was stuck'd at Station bay with Python, landing gear was stuck my ship at that bay.
I was helpless. Thoughts on Self destruction, losing few million credit from bounty and 4 million on insurance. I haved only 18 million credit in Stash.
But i stayed calm, and i found solution for my situation. Day saved.

So, don't pass Station bay with activated landing gear :)

I'm for some boost on economy, better rewarding, earning.
What you ppl think about that?

I don't ask for agreement with me.

i agree with you that 'is to prevent ramming' implying 'should be applied when ramming players only' is a logical fallacy, but as a personal preference it can still be argued for like any other.

completely ingrained system where player v player AND player v NPC deterrence was already implemented far before this speed change.

the system prior to speed limit just didn't prevent station ramming. in fact, that system considered ramming a perfectly valid action in any circumstance, with no criminal status attached whatsoever, so the idea that this was already ingrained in the design seems a very long stretch to me. it wasn't even taken into account. gp is right, this was definitely a "patch". considering this, it could as well have been an 'ad-hoc' rule targeting players only, which would avoid station ramming just the same, but would allow npc trampling just the same too. some people like it. of course you're not clueless, but you have to admit he has a point!

Seems like a great way to grief people. Time to roll out in a 1% hull sidewinder and get people killed *rubs hands together*

I'm not arguing with you, but I'd suggest that since they're in a Clipper, 2M isn't "a lot" - how long can that take to replenish? Less than six round trips, that's how long. :)

Sorry for your loss, OP - but you could be back where you were in an hour.

i've posted that vid before but the way it is now there are some circumstances when bumping into someone is practically inevitable

basically you have to go <100 m/s all the way till station or you sometimes are just bound to get some nasty surprises

if you do hit something close or at letterbox then that's your own responsibility though, as if you decide going over >100 m/s you better watch radar for any incoming ships

In 1 day you only have 2Million in credits!!!! Eeek. I can do 4 million an hour if I really try.

Trading is much more profitable.

The speed limit should not apply to npc's. The whole mechanic is anti grief and it's probably fun crashing into npc's. :3

Wait, did you say rare trading? I can't find any good guides on it, how do you even do it?
