Can I just add for the record please, I did not die! He blew out my engines, then couldn't find me coz of my uber stealth skills...the fact I lost server connection while spending 2 minutes trying to figure out how to reboot/repair the damn things is immaterial*.

*It's in the 'Functions Panel', don't spend 2 minutes trying to turn the thrusters off on the Module Screen ./facepalm.

I already did submitted a ticket for them to take action.
I'm surprised you actually managed to find the guys you were looking for in the first place...had so many problems with instancing lately 
Report it, but don't expect anything to happen. It's like making a police report, there are probably a lot of other things that they think are more important and it may or may not be investigated. Just continue to play the game and forget the other players there, they will eventually go away on their own.

we've had lots of problems with this too its ruining a good game
Yeah sadly most of the cheaters I've seen have been banned for a week and come staight back to doing it

I reported a guy a LONG time ago because he took my shields off in a few seconds, he was in a clipper and I a fer de lance, I had 4 pips to shields and he only used pulse lasers, they literally dropped 5 seconds after he interdicted me and my hull fell to around 20% in a few seconds even though he was using pulses, I tried to FSD away but my FSD reached 100% and didn't work, nothing happend, I managed to get out of his range by boosting past him and go silent running to escape and he eventually jumped away and called me some stuff for "combat logging"
Interesting thing was the moment he jumped my FSD kicked in like he was jamming it, also to note when he interdicted me it was an instant fail, so fast I barely realised if been interdicted when I dropped out

I had been previously warned by someone else about him and both me and the other person reported him and when I asked him if he was cheating he said things like "no such thing as cheating" Ect but didn't admit it outright

Seen him twice since then, so he hasn't had a perm ban yet, the last time was about 1 and half months ago at which time he made a beeline for me and tried to interdict me but couldn't catch me

Also there was a guy on reddit not long ago bragging about cheating, dozens of players have video evidence and many reported him (including me) and was even saying it in local chat

He got a 1 week ban to the cheaters server and "asked" not to do it again

Yes I am afraid this is a cheat, I was in denial because I wanted Elite to be like the Elite I remember from way back. Unfortunately a well know streamer caught this live on twitch a cmdr being hammered by six, yes six other cmdrs and his last ring never went down after his first two were removed in a matter of seconds. The evidence was submitted to FD so they do know of the "hack" cheat call it what you want. Sad very sad
Ok can't name and shame which is understandable, but a little ways-and-means goes far.
I've given my (low) opinion of FD's policy Re: cheats elsewhere on the forum; the fact it was my 1st visit to open in about a month and the 2nd CMDR we met is a bit disconcerting. That being said, it is in an area that I think is busy with CGs atm so would expect a build-up of hemorrhoids* there, so that might give a skewed view of the number of cheats in-game. I still had a blast and I would say that's the main thing to take from this.
On another note, it's actually quite nice to know** that he cheated and that's how he shredded me, rather than a matter of skill***

Yeah if you are killed in combat the other player HAS to be cheating because no one is able to spend more time practicing than you do. Right.it's actually quite nice to know** that he cheated and that's how he shredded me, rather than a matter of skill***
