New Power! I've got an idea! - Commanders in Charge of the Galaxy

This is the best thing I have read this week. I need one. A Tandoori Accelerator and two Multivindaloos, that's how you get it done.

Ah, I love the smell of an Imperial Curry'er in the morning. The sound of those guns! Tikkatikkatikkatikkatikkatikka...
Okay sir, would you also care to try our special this evening, Wishtisher Smoked Peacock Ribs? they go great pared with a Wica Coconut Milk cocktail.

Hope you don't come up against a larger cannon equipped cmdr! ;)

But what I want to know is have you found someone that gets really angry, takes everything liternally and doesn't get sarcasm...cos I'm guessing you'd have to look real far away from this forum for anyone like that.

Wouldn't you need a primative form of data storage using wound magnetic strips as a rare good...and a portable playing device as an ultra-rare good?

Wound magnetic strips would get wiped by all the immense magnetic fields you encounter in your space travels. What is needed is a robust medium not dependent upon magnetic field moment. How about, urm, an inert medium - paper for example, with holes punched into them in a pattern readable by physical sensors on some form of machine? Alternatively, how about a disk-like object that can have an information pattern inscribed on it, perhaps using a helical encoded path using height-mapping for levels of analogue data?

Heck no - that sounds like just a complex DRM mechanism to me...you'd never be able to compile you own favourite combinations of data in that manner and have to play said data in the order the corporations dictated. Although if you could at least choose the speed the playback device read the inert medium then you could have some fun by reading the data using a different speed for the rotation than the manufacturer originally intended.

Very true, but what if we could invent some form of mechanical locomotor with articulation to allow you to pick these inert disks and put them in any playing order you wanted? We could put the whole playback, selector, and disk library into a box, and put lights on it to make it look pretty.

one two three o'clock four o'clock rock

Ben! Ben! Ben! Pleeeeze make this a thing!

If you do I will play 24/7 to make it work.

(Well 23/7 'cos I do have to walk the dog)

(Or 22/7 in case I need a poo)

(Or 21/7 so I can pat my girlfriend on the head and say "there there" in a non patronising way)

But If you make this happen I will play 21/7!!!!!

How about Power Rangers for a faction name unless it's already taken of course ;)

Pretty sure Commanders in Charge of the Galaxy is the official name of this power. Could be abbreviated CCG, not to be confused with Critical Community Goal, what this kinda is.

What about Commanders in Charge of Community Peace? I like the acronym for that.

Reminds me of the Three-CP-One skit from SCTV.

I wanted it for a shiny steel-grey orca, with CCCP on the side in nice, bright, red letters. Then we can expand into the galaxy the Glorious vastness of the Motherland.

So this on a galactic scale?

I'm in.

Maybe we could invent a symbol that represents the efforts of the group as a whole? Something for those on the industrial worlds, something to represent the agriculturals? And something to show the dreams of ambition, unity in purpose, and the illuminating light of harmony. Stars perhaps?

Keep it simple. Maybe one star, with some symbolic tools for industry and agriculture. Good thinking!
