Bug on the windshield....or just bug?
Looks pretty exciting. Thoughfor me it would be more exciting if there was some indication that this sort of thing exists in the game and is meaningful. Surprises are nice and I commend you for your travels but personally I'm not going to 'deep' explore unless there is some indication there are things to find. I've done some nebula sightseeing and that has sated my explorer appetite for now.
But I will watch this thread with hope that this is something....engineered.

there are so many uncharted settlements my Lord, it could be smugglers...
...not a bad idea for gameplay...finding a planet with human settlements that have dropped off the radar; add a pinch of the Minor Faction mechanic...

Ok, if they add space bugs to the windshields we get TWO things:
-Thargoid babies confirmed
-Add module for windshield wipers (Vipers have Wipers for free)
It would be awesome to see small alien civilizations mucking about their system or systems with primitive FSDs.
Michio Kaku spoke of this in his last book, which was an amazing read speculating this idea. If there is life on these planets, and the inhabitants originated from the same planet, the chance of them sharing any compatibility with humans would be quite inconceivable.
