So... I was actually streaming some Piracy action today in my Clipper when I saw a 'Conda that was shield down in SC. I interdicted him to get some cargo when, surprise, shield is full, nuff said. I was just telling my self "Yolo anyway" and attacked him still, what's comming next was... disturbing.

Before I continue, no offense taking by the fact I died, I mean, it's called Elite: Dangerous, I kill traders taht refuse to give their cargo, I must also die sometimes, karma, they say, but the way I died right here is just not possible to me. So. My shield felt, and I just melted down like chocolat in the sun. First of all, how the hell did he disable my ship ? First thing I don't understand, secondly, how can he down a Clipper from 80% to 0% in like 3 seconds ? I mean, even giving the fact I got hit by all his weapons, it's just not possible imo. Any ideas ? Does this sound like cheating to you ? Video below.

Looks like he had a Plasma Accelerator. You had no points in SYS (which makes me question your choices), engaged him with only one ring of shields available (same as above), and tried to out-joust an Anaconda with forward firing weaponry.

He had 4 beam lasers and 4 canons, look at the sub-sys tab in the video and you'll see.

And let me add that your Clipper wasn't so properly fitted as its rebuy cost was only about 4.5 M Cr. Mine is more than 8 M Cr and is not completly maxfitted yet.

You went into a fight against a superior opponent unprepared, used bad tactics and then got fragged by 4 cannons + beams. You looked at his loadout at the start of the fight so you ought to have seen it coming, or at least been able to figure it out after the fact. Calling 'cheat' is poor form. Your post will also get redacted under naming and shaming rules, although the only person being shamed here is you ;)

All that said, totally worth it for the sounds of French incredulity :)

Clipper vs Conda, that pretty much sums it up. Its a drastic mismatch. The shields up/down thing could have just been you being mistaken.

Ah, man, you make some great sounds, you know that right? I presume that part of the vid will be online for a long time with a different title....

In addition to what the others said about cannons, the disabling effect is that he hit your powerplant, and it malfunctioned. I think you were lucky that he didn't actually target it (or wasn't in position to hit it more) - you would have died much quicker.

Heh. I found this pretty amusing. I understand french a bit, and you crunching the numbers of your shield-hull strength was quite funny. No offense meant though! You have enough credits, so I take it this isn´t a really big deal for you, but I just found your utter surprise funny.
Anyway, the Clipper is what I travel around in most of the time too, and I never tried to take on a CMDR in an Anaconda. Kudos to you for trying, but I can´t really judge if this is weird or not.
I gotta say, a Clippers hull is pretty tough, so I found it a little bit odd it was blown away that fast. But I´m sure more knowlegable cmdrs can chip in to verify if that was legit.

Is this like one of those jokes "how many cannons does it take to kill a clipper?"

I see the video has been removed. Most people who sit in front of a well armed conda don't normally need telling how they died. Maybe the times are a changin'

Exactly the kind of behaviour and answer that makes me hate this idiotic community that is Elite Dangerous's community. All I asked was if you people find it normal to be melted down so fast (what is not normal in my opinion), and now we are down to the "Oh oh, omelette du fromage, french baguette" stuff, grow up retards. I never told it was a good idea, I exactly knew it was a bad idea to fight it becous I DID NOT CARE ABOUT DYING, so stop being chields, I deleted the video becous most answers are just stupid and driven out of all sense. If a moderator comes by, thank you to delet this thread, I would be greatfull.

Learn to take a joke, mon amie. If you think that's worse than using a pejorative term for people with learning difficulties to insult another forum member, it's your business.

If you'd asked what had happened rather than playing the cheat card the responses might have been less mocking. Or not...

There was nothing disrespectful towards the French in it. It was simply a pun, a play on language. I have many French family in Paris as it happens, you are reading far too much into it.

And yes, 'cheat card'. When something happens that is unexpected and the first reaction is to start asking about cheating rather than analysing your own mistakes it doesn't look good.

Your stroppiness along with the removal of the video make me (and probably lots of others) think you are just embarrassed that at how poorly you performed and regretting making it public knowledge. Just from the single screenshot I can see in this thread I can tell you were out-gunned and bound to die even if the Conda had no shields. You went in with virtually no shields in the first place.

They didn't need to cheat to beat you.
