There have been a couple of questions from Mac users about availability.

Quick screen shot of the Order page should alleviate those fears at least.

I guess not for Steam users though

Now THIS is what Elite is about. This is the direction I was hoping the game would take: "all sorts of things to discover hidden on them. You'll find surface starports, crashed ships, mineral deposits, hidden bases" - Hell yeah! Bring it on!!!

Sounds great. This is moving ED much more towards the adventure/exploration realm, which is definitely what I signed up for. Trailer looks great and I'm sure the buggy will be tons of fun.

What I would like are: more space station variety, interesting missions that are a lot more complex and believable, more stuff to find in the universe, less arbitrary gamey gimmicks like USSes.

I'm sure everyone would like to see this stuff as well. But today is PL Day, and it is a good day! :)

This is why I expect nothing less than dropping out of supercruise near a planet and flying down to the surface in one seamless action.

Then you are setting yourself up for a fall .. just saying ...

It probably will be seamless (in that there will be no loading), but don't expect to be in control the whole time, its perfectly possible there will be some sort of hyperspace style screen whilst the planet loads in.

Hopefully that wont be the case and it will be completely seamless and controlable, but as stated don't get your hopes up just yet.

It was a condition of the request for planetary landings all the way back in November 2012 (feel free to try going back through the Kickstarter comments), that planetary landings be SEAMLESS, as we had them in FE2/FFE. For a long time, the expansion was called Seamless Planetary Landings, or SPL for short.

This is why I expect nothing less than dropping out of supercruise near a planet and flying down to the surface in one seamless action.

Two things...

1) Seemless is subjective of course... You could press your "jump" button and you seemlessly "warp" down to atmospheric flight near the surface? :)

2) Frankly seemlessly flying too/around the planet is the least of my worries. I'm more concerned what we get added depth/gameplay wise. ie: If all we can do it press a new discovery scanner button, and now shoot mining lasers on rocks on the ground (instead of space), is that really going to add new depth, and offer intereting or emergent gameplay?

The price is for a full season of expansion rather than just a single expansion.

MIchael

Ok, sounds better and I appreciate the reponse but what does a "season of expansions" mean? is it two expansions it gets or 3 or , the pricing is too vague Michael. No one seems to understand what they are buying. Also you need to make sure we can have more than one commander because this impacts the people who have bought more than one version of the original game. Appreciate the reply though

I'll admit I'm a bit disappointed that we will apparently have to pay extra to access the beta for this even if we already bought into the beta for the original game. ¨For pretty much every other early-access game I've supported, once you had beta once, it carried over to any expansions. Of course, the main reason I'm disappointed is that I'm not sure I can financially defend spending the extra money AGAIN, even though I do want to :p

Other than that though, I'm very excited for this!

Where exactly did you get that information that you have to pay extra to access the beta for PL? Did you make that up, or do you have a reference?
