As I understand it, we now have a two-tiered LEP - the old KS £80 variety (no Beta access) and the new (Beta access). Have I got that right?

Those who backed at £100 (Premium Beta) and above should also have access to the expansion betas.

The lifetime pass was $180 (I got a loyalty discount, woot!) and I figure I'll be playing Elite for the next year or two. Let's call it 30 months. So that comes to:
$6/month...
I'm also going to pull the trigger when I get home tonight. I regretted not having beta access (I bought the game in December) and given the embarrassing number of hours I've put into Skyrim, I'm pretty sure it will end up being a good deal for me as well.
Just did the same (£120 with the discount here in the UK), even though I'm a Mac user and I'll have to wait in line. Just take my money, dammit! :)

Yes! Welcome aboard commanders. Glad to hear that more commanders "join the cause". Though DB keeps the roadmap close to his chest we'll have to trust in his vision, bumps and conundrums aside. :)

<nods> Aye, they should!

I called it 'new' as there wasn't any difference originally (or so I thought).

How limited a time can we buy the lifetime pass? I'd very much like it but very much can't afford it until later in the month (constantly the case in life it seems).

I would buy the lifetime pass even at these prices if I knew what I was buying.

Battlefield Season Pass listed in quite a bit of detail what kind of content you would be getting, when, and how many updates. There is absolutely nothing like that with E: D.

This is further compounded by the fact that I have zero interest in walking around ships and any tacked-on FPS, which is one of the mooted expansions.

As it is, I'm buying a promise of getting something someday which I might or might not be interested in, which is fundamentally against my principles as a consumer and a gamer.

The LEP was also sold separately during premium beta (I believe it was pulled out right when standard beta started). I'm not sure those purchases (alongside standard beta or vanilla pre-order) get expansion betas too.

Well no way i can afford the pass, jealous yes, bitter yes, and i hope all you get is this. (joking of course)

I joined standard beta just two days after premium beta had expired. That was when I first heard about the Elite reboot. So I was glad to get the chance to buy the pass which I missed by 48 hours. Thanks FD.

Hi all, I purchased the Alpha and the Standard Beta when first released.
I know there was mention of expansion pass included but not sure if with the Alpha or Beta Std.

Does anyone know if I now have to buy the lifetime expansion pass now as well?

Now this is what I would like to know as I can't find anything relating to it...

It's my understanding that Premium Beta owners DO have that access.

Think of Us, poor (young) standard beta backers though .. just as loyal, half as wealthy
.. left in the cold cold rain of common release, after xbox. Peering through the You Tube window, for any little early access glimpse of (oo, get you) PREMIUM backers and you're big huge bowls of hot spaghetti sidewinders and cold beers landed on planets now, all driving round in your shiny new space cars, while we have to wait for a bus!

;) :D

I reckon you'll be alright. If not, I'll second for you Commander.

I also bought the lifetime pass today. Although I think we can all agree that the core game is far from complete, E : D is already an amazing experience and it is getting better with every update. If FD continue to deliver new content every few months, I see no reason why I would stop playing any time soon.

IMHO the game still has a long way to go before before it can be considered "complete", but I am confident that I am going to enjoy the ride :)

I asked this in the 1st reply to this thread, 65 posts later, still no answer.

I bought a lifetime pass from work. Its nice being in my 30's and having a good job. This is a cheap hobby compared to how many hours I pour into it. cheap entertainment per hour.
